@ training today

Wow! You appear to be holding Parra as an example Manly should be following.
Just a reminder, Parra has more wodden spoons than any club and currently has the longest drought for winning a premiership. They have also cheated the salary cap while still winning the spoon. Let's hope Manly never follow the Parra model.
No. They've clearly moved into the modern era that is already occupied by the likes of the Swans and so many other teams that provide a sense of belonging to their fans. You seriously think Manly is even in the game, in this respect? Please!

I am not sure how anyone can argue Ryan's point re coms? There were some promising signs last year but, in the whole, the club is in the dark ages when it comes to digital communications.

It is incredibly frustrating as there are so many simple things they could do even without knowing the status of the overall squad.

Forget the squad status for a moment , how about " we are back in training again and here's some photos ", or how about " I'm the new CEO, I haven't started work yet but am looking forward to meeting some of the fans blah blah", or maybe " Coaches are back on deck and here's some initial thoughts on our 2017 year".

So ****ing easy, but for Manly so ****ing hard !!

The darcy article is the perfect example of how half arsed it is. Rather than 200 token words how about some video content before and after his operation? A rehab diary....anything (which is what we want in the off season)

All we talk about in marketing these days is content...which the club has in spades but has an inability to capture/ produce

its all about relevance ... according to the media brain

Yup, sell the SIZZLE - not the steak!

Seriously, my local Aussie rules team (West Adelaide) who play in what is a minor, state league competition have far better communication with its fans than Manly does. Every day or every other day whatever the case may be, they are on Facebook and Twitter telling their supporters (not just the members) about who they've signed or re-signed or lost to another club or retirement, among other notices they want their fans to know about.

On social media most of what I read about the Sea Eagles comes from its fan made pages. There really is SFA from the club itself.

Honestly, how hard is it to employ a social media manager who can keep the supporters informed of what's happening on a regular basis?

Maybe they think if they open up too much we'll see what a stuff up they made in recent years. I suspect they are beginning to learn from their mistakes but who can tell if they dont say anything except 'all is well, move along, all is well'

If they could afford my salary i could come help them out, unfortunately I think I may be outside their budget scope 🙁

It isn't hard though, they should be looking at something like VoiceStorm and flooding the digital media through that, have the employees all use it for auto-retweets and FB posts and even involve the fans in some regard. That would greatly improve output, however as a starting point they need to post more things, not more of the same thing

That's just manly, they aren't gonna change, we aren't like the others and even if that's a negative thing I still like it. As long as they are working hard to bring results back I couldn't care less, however it does kinda make our patience annihilate ourselves

Unfortunately their media adviser and self-proclaimed club (one of those rare occasions when the club is still relevant) legend is still coming to grips with the Oh En, Oh Ff Ff switch on that electonic gizmo thingy that sits on his desk at Narrabeen.

Next step, emails.
