Tommy T Injured - usa bound

Manly just a couple of weeks ago parted ways with the high performance specialist that's specific job was to manage his hamstrings. The one would got him through 2021 without a recurrence and helped Tom stay on the field and take out the daly M. Strange we would move him on?
That's really interesting, thank you @Simonmyers11. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think I recollect that a key part of the successful hamstring regime was fairly sustained sprinting practice at close to full TT speed. Whereas the drill which did him in seems to have been repeated bursts of short-distance high intensity....which sounds kind of like the opposite of the successful routine.

If he can play 75% of the season for Manly in 2023 I think we'll be well placed in September.
If he stays fit I hope Manly rest him every now and then (along with our newer first graders) so he stays fresh for the latter part of the season.

Couldn't give a fig what a bloke who boasts that he is death riding Manly thinks ...
Well stop quoting what I write. I'm entitled to my opinion and I don't go thinking what our owner decides is perfect since their the cancer at the club that need to go.

Yes, he ain’t Latrell, but you’d have to think this is the last roll of the dice for Tommys hammies. Souths got out of trells treatment cheap, but that was because a sponsor dropped $45k in the hat. Even at full cost ($57k), surely that’s worth the risk. I know there’s no guarantees, but I reckon Penn should do it. If Max Delmage was still at Manly, Tommy would already be in the US.

Honestly think about this.

Tommy earns circa 1 million a year.

No doubt he’d be frustrated , and wants to play footy.

If someone said to me right now that , “ I’ve got a magic fix for you but it’s going to cost $57k plus an airfare to the USA”

I’d be on the plane tomorrow morning , AT MY EXPENSE!!!

Hoping the team loses ... is not having an opinion ... it is just being a ....

So you don't like Penn .. therefore you death ride us ... I would love to see you explain that wisdom to Jake one day ..

We'll rest him Origin time..... If you get my drift

So Tommy does his hammy in the shower or, more likely in a short sprint on the corso. And does it most recently not running at pace in training.
Yet people want to swap him to the centres where he would do less work than either of the above scenarios?
You're all barking mad.

Using your analogy , the cancer has seemed to spread from the owner to be scattered amongst supporters

And If this is the case I agree with you

remove them all

Hoping the team loses means quite simply that you are not a Manly supporter. I cannot imagine myself ever going down that path @Damien2812 , even though I agree that Scott Penn's ownership of MWSE has been a total cluster**** since day one.

Wasn 't aware of that but would have thought that Turbo should be able to continue on with whatever previous hammy type management or general individual preparation just on his own accord if necessary . Really not sure if there is some type of a magic bullet still out there , Would think already that he has been subject to all of the appropriate and specialist individual type testing with hammy make up and stress limits and so on . Something must have been working for the past couple of seasons with his hammy issues and again just maybe time to hone his training even more to his specific requirements .

It’s really tough to manage the reoccurrence of this type of injury. Often you see them happen late in a game when you expect muscles and tendons to be warm and flexible. I hope they find a way to manage his hamstrings long term during both the off season and season itself.

Maby Seibold needs to ease him back into the game and reduce his high intensity and repeat work. Play him at Centre, to get some match fitness, give him X amount of scoots and metres per game and increase that after every few games. We can't afford to keep slapping him back at fullback for 6 games a year.

Anyone on here that hopes our team loses

Does not support our club
They support their ego's and agenda

But the reality is No personality , ego or agenda is bigger than the Glory of our Legendary club

Turbo is a gun and asset to our club. His injuries are unfortuanate. DCE who is paid more than Turbo does not have the same influence as Turbo does with respect to win/loss ratio when he is not playing. So I don't understand all this hate. Yes disappointing but none his own doing. Hope to see him firing at the beginning of the season and quell the unwarranted angst.

Don't worry, they hate DCE too 🤷🏻‍♂️

To my way of thinking, he’s just as likely to do a hammy playing centre - or by running down the Corso, or slipping in the shower - as he is playing fullback, so why bother changing his position? If he’s on the field, he should be our fullback.

My beef with the club is the way Hasler was removed especially the way they did it and installed another non Manly coach who has been a failure. If Seibold couldn't deal with the politics at Brisbane I'm sure at Manly he will regret the decision coming back to coaching. The Penn's have slowly destroyed the Manly brand and slowly supporters are starting to distance themselves financially from the club. I've been supporting the club financially since 2011 through membership but as of today I haven't renewed my membership for next year.
