The difference between making the semi's ... or missing out will get down to points differential.

Having Tom fit for just 10 games a season vastly increases our chances ...

Having him fit at finals time ... exponentially increases our chances of a premiership ...

No one has a crystal ball ... but I wouldn't be getting rid of the best player in the world just yet ...
So true .
I've said it before, Minichiello played only 33 games over four seasons ( 2006-09) yet came back to average 24 games/season over the next five years and heavily contributed to Chooks success.

Just send Tommy off to the USA please. Get him sorted out once and for all. Its worked for Fatrell.
Yes I was thinking that, but to be fair, Latrell so far has got through 13 games since his US junket. Any guarantee his recovery will last longer than Turbo's did?

Thought that Turbo has already had spent some considerable time with some injury treatment specialist in Melbourne which apparently went quite well . Then that referred to match and training preparation stretching routine which also seemed to be improving matters . The run down the Corso without any preparation of course and again since then , no noted hammy issues until this current setback . Not sure going to the U S for any additional treatment would offer any more benefit then he has already received . Probably just has to stick religiously to that pre game - training stretching routine and again not sure if anything else [ including any more specialist visits ] will necessarily improve matters for him .Is ironic that there are 3 quite capable players in Garrick , Weekes and Koula who could all offer something worthwhile at the back but Turbo and like Snake previously , are really indispensable at their best to get maximum team results

Yeah, I think Foran went to the Melbourne specialist with Turbo at the time. He played the most minutes for us in 2022.
I love what Tom brings to our team but we are never going to be premiership contenders when so much of our play revolves around just him.
There's plenty of talent in our squad, Seibold needs to find more effective ways of using it.
The work they put into our defence in the off season is what I'm most interested to see in 2023 though.

The magical trip to USA that many are calling for,is based on Latrell’s visit earlier this year.Never mind the fact that Latrell plays, trains and has a different body to TomT or the fact that hamstrings are a tricky injury if you have a history of them. There’s nothing guaranteeing Latrell won’t do it again

well maybe we can learn something there also on how Tommy plays and trains, compared to Fatrell. What's been Tommys longest run of successive games since his first hammy????

taking his injuries into account hes probably a 500k a year player because he plays less than half a season.
Just the fact that his ability is second to none IMO means he is worth just as much, if not more, to us off the field as he is on the field. Kids don't want Ethan Bullemore merchandise, they don't want Toff Sipley footy cards, they are not lining up 10 deep to get Brad Parkers signature, when they're kicking the footy outside they're not dreaming of being Morgan Harper, it's all about Turbo. He brings more to this club than footy and he's worth every cent he gets paid

100% - defence is the most important factor the coaches need to work on.
Our defence last year was nothing short of PATHETIC !! Especially by the forwards close to our line.
The attack will take care of itself with the talented players in the backline BUT if we don’t fix our defence we will be going nowhere

Exactly.
We saw it with Snake too, the NRL even made him the face of the game ( yeah, yeah, I know...).
It's what his talent and image brings in for sponsorship, match day crowds, marketing, corporate days, prime time TV slots, potential signing targets etc.
Judge his worth/legacy to the club at the end of his career, it aint finished yet.

With no pre season training under his belt now he will be struggling to get up to match fitness for weeks after he actually comes back (or is that IF). Remember this season he did some injury in pre season and struggled for those first 4 games. He was playing terrible. Then he did a knee vs Raiders and was out for another 4. Came back for 3 games , where he struggled again one of which was the 38-0 thrashing by the donkeys, and then was gone shoulder vs Parra. This has all the makings of a rinse and repeat because he'll have no off season preparation. He needs to go away and get this sorted then he needs a good 4 weeks of heavy training before even thinking of playing.

Did his hamstring in February of ‘21,missed the start of that season, not sure how he went that year though. Some genius will have to remind me

Well Seibold has big issues if Turbo is out and I guess Hasler will be smiling with this normal recurrence each year at Manly.
