Couldn’t agree more, I‘ve been thinking this whole thing is on the nose, the officialdom mess with the game to speed it up, in the hope to improve the product, the byproduct is lop sided results, which without doubt is bad for the product and in particular bad for the gambling dollar, which don’t kid yourselves pretty much controls sport these days.100% agree.
The bin should only be used for deliberate acts of foul play, swinging arms, etc.
Everything else, put on report and let the match review committee decide if a charge is warranted. The sin bins are killing the game and completely inconsistent.
Teams are playing for penalties these days and the game is becoming a disgrace.
This forces (or allows) the officialdom to further mess with the product to deal with the subsequent issues (without to much scrutiny on other underlying concerns) and hear we are, they can’t just come out and tell the truth, (it’s to complex and dare I say it, like all corporate business, on the nose with vested interest/s) but they can come out and say we need to do everything we can to protect player welfare, which is good and should always be the priority, but sadly I think it’s all smoke and mirrors.
When you see games like yesterday and some of the on field refereeing we are seeing, (being placed on report is just another way to extract further influence and control over the outcome of games) you would be naive to think that it’s all above board, there is a lot of nonsense going on at the moment and it has a bad smell about it. Here’s something to think about PV and his connection with the equine industry. The equine industry is rotten to the core and has been for longer than I can recall, it’s influenced and corrupted by gambling, vested interests, crooks, internal politics the almighty dollar and just about anything that can be carried out under the table, unfortunately I think our game is now well on its way down the same black hole, sad really.
