The Manly CENTRE dilemma is coming...

You forgot about Saab who I stated was a strong consideration to cover fullback which you shot down stating "This is zero chance - will Never happen" , next week following an injury who is in the 1 - Saab right and there's been many more but prefer not to cut ppl down...
This was simply about your confusion over Suli being a centre, who cares - get over it...
You may sit on the sideline as a sponsor or whatever and throw enough darts that some stick.
Personally not here to share who I know, or you don't know....I'm here to share opinion with other Manly fans on a footy forum, not chase gratitude.
I do feel your a little paranoid and also liked your posts and if you take a hard look, you Will find any time someone post a different opinion, you fire up these days....I wouldn't mind you adding sting off the interchange- but not a footy forum
you've lost the plot dude. I'm no sponsor and Saab has never played fullback for us. I'm also a damn good dart player lol.

Your getting sloppy mate - Saab went to fullback against St George after an injury, as I stated a week earlier....stick to the darts champ.
The sponsor was a joke btw, which another poster you had a blowup recently claimed....even if it's true- who cares...get over it and move on hey ?

You think a member of the team dropping back for a kick return because someone needs assistance from the trainer is Saab playing at fullback? You stated that he was in-line to cover for Tom in rd.1 and I gave that an emphatic no and sure enough, your ‘lock’ for a centre position ended up back there as I said.
You’re right, I probably shouldn’t care but I find it hard to bite my tongue when you throw falsities around the forum as if you’ve got some scoop when I know for a fact that it’s wrong; a la Foran a chance at 9, etc. from now on, I’ll say nothing.

Yeah I really hope we can get some good footy out of Moses. I always thought he'd be better utilised as a winger in the mould of big Semi or Sivo...the guy is massive and moves well...all he'd need to do is get us a good start to our sets (which he can certainly do) and he'd be impossible to stop from close range. His work under the highball is not that bad either; he played a lot of his junior and school boy footy on the wing.
He does some tough carries with the ball at times, I don’t know if his game is able to grow like Isaiah Yeo has done.

Let's compromise - I will agree Suli is not a centre and Saab who was not really playing fullback when Dufty ran past him to score and you can overlook Foran was ever considered as a possible dummy half option and Walker will play centre.
Rather than the Banter Snake, I ask you who will be in the 3 and 4 in a month's time and why ?

Harper is a lock for right centre. His combination with Saab, ability to find a hole, score a try, enthusiasm & positivity are invaluable.

I like Parker but agree he's not the fastest of players, but his defence is excellent & he's an important part of our team spirit.

I don't think Suli or Walker have shown enough recently to expect to walk back into the team without either starting on the bench (as Suli is doing) or playing a few games for Blacktown.

It won't be me because I'm too old and was never talented enough anyway.

Harpo for sure if he stays fit.
I've watched Tyfuna since he was in the Under 20's and I think he is under-rated. I hope he is not traded out because I think he has the skills to be a regular First Grader.
Whilst in Mudgee I managed to grab a few words with Tippytoes and he regards himself as a centre rather than a winger. So he too comes into the mix although I haven't seen enough of him to make a judgement.

I agree here mate, all outside backs, be it centres or fullbacks, will basically debut on the wing to simply adjust to the speed of 1st grade, even Tommy T did vs Raiders.
Tippytoes is a centre and actually went well on debut for Roosters playing both wing/centre vs Storm.
Harp is playing too well to drop for imo also, defensively as well as his running game.

There needs to be an investigation Bozo....this bloke is making the average 21 year old look like a sloth....good to see though, I aim to drop 7kg by July....was running in quick sand at touch footy the other night.

Why indeed? Are you implying Des has a sinister secret agenda? I doubt that, although anything's possible in the world of rugby league intrigue.
You don't like Foran at 5/8 and you don't like Schuster at second row. Fair enough, that's a valid opinion, although I don't agree with it, and its hardly a basis for a conspiracy theory.
By the way, when did Des state Schuster would start the year as our 5/8? I never heard that.

There's nothing sinister in partiality in this instance, SER8. That's human nature. We do it even though we don't realise we do it. And he said Schuster was 5/8 before the season started in interview and has been reported as saying he is a No 6 several times, once even correcting an interviewer implying he is a second rower. You've obviously missed those comments SER8.

Now its important to understand that my comments are opinions based upon what I observe. I may be wrong, and have been many times in the past. But many times also I've been right. The way I see things, is not based on likes or dislikes. I can admire a player, but I don't know them so like or dislike is irrelevant.

Concerning Foran, if you have read what I write, you will have noted years ago I was one of those who felt no anger at all when he chose to leave. I said then it was a business decision. He could have handled it better so we didn't have to pay overs for DCE, but that's hardly a serious issue of concern.

I was concerned that Manly brought him back for no other reason than his susceptibility for injury in the previous five years and the fact we had a young player who potentially could be the best in his position at 5/8 (several including Turbo have said that, its not original). As a cover for hooker, which is what Des said, I could see the reasoning for picking up Foran cheap. He's an excellent play maker.

Now I think Des has erred in not using Schuster at 5/8 and Foran at hooker, but that's an opinion based entirely on what I see for the future of the team. It has nothing to do with likes and dislikes. I still admire Foran and think he's done a pretty decent job at 5/8. That's not the issue. The issue is if we have someone who could be one of the best ballplayers and link men in the game, why are we leaving him to do tonnes of defence and fewer opportunities in the forwards. If he is considered the next big thing as a 5/8 why isnt he there. I would have said the same thing of Foran before he came into first grade. To block his progress, slows his progress.

So SER8 please understand my comments have nothing to do with Foran per se. If he was the only 5/8 available, then I wouldn't be making an issue about it. Its about using players in their best position and then working other players of less talent around them. I made the same issue about Walker being kept away from centre. I considered that a waste of talent.

No problem at all, that is a perfectly reasonable point of view and thanks for explaining. I only wondered about what you were getting at because in your initial comment you used quite evocative words like favouritism, usurp, and his agenda. But if you simply mean you and Des like different players in different positions then you'll be reassured that so many agree with you!

As it happens I don't. I said before the season began that Foz would be 5/8 and I didn't think Schuster would be in our Round 1 team. But that Des would certainly bring him in sooner than later, with a view to having him a key man by season's end. Similar with Haumole, I thought he would need a few games in reserve grade before getting in. The reasoning in part being that the season is so long, and the adjustment to first grade is significant, and it's hard to expect a young player to come in a play all year at a high standard. So bring them in later when they can ride the wave all the way to the end.

As for Schu at 5/8, I'm sure we'll get to see it at some stage. I was quite surprised how well he handled second row when he came on against Souths and he's done well there ever since. Whether he is more value to the side at 5/8 or second row time will tell. He's a pretty big bloke already! However I'm sure we both agree that he has to stay in the side now, regardless of the errors.

Perhaps I have a tendency for being rather assertive in my comments. I guess part of that is borne out of my previous careers, where I had to make decisions by the thousands over three and half decades quickly that affected people's lives, a responsibility which demanded a need for being definitive and as impartial a possible. Didn't mean I was right, but generally I was as right as I could be based on the information I had. Human behaviour was my speciality. But I also know there are no absolutes, only provisional probabilities, depending upon the information available. So if I seem to be saying something that seems absolute, be aware that I dont believe in such a state, and there is always a likelihood of being wrong no matter the discipline.

be aware that I dont believe in such a state
Hey I don't even believe in Queensland 🙂
As for your significant life experience, sounds stressful but I for one find your posts among the most thoughtful. (Although I have to say you can be pretty obstinate, lol)
