The Life Of Brian (Kelly)

Now I am not saying Jesus is any thing other than a very important being, he surely lived, without a doubt.

They did afterall use his birth year to start calculating the years.

Some of it is too far fetched for me but I have made my point.

Goodnight.

Goodnight.
He said two things important to me.
Treat each other with respect and don't judge.
To the son of god question he mostly said what do you think, to the questioner.
A lot of what has been said by churches is bs.
He wasn't keen on them either. And nor am I.

He said to the Pharisees that he was the son of God when they arrested him at night. His claim the son of man is also divine
I sure ain't an expert on it mate so I appreciate your insight.
I just know, through my own humble learnings that to the average punter that he met, he let them make their own minds up.
So it sounds like a bit of a defiant up yours to the authorities when he was arrested.
Hope so.

Indeed.. among many other things

Give us some evidence of the resurrection please i like your insight. Makes you wonder why all the disciples preached his resurrection and message knowing they would be persecuted, vilified and face death which they ultimately did. Also makes you wonder how something so small could spread worldwide through the message alone and not via the sword unlike the religion of peace. God wills it
Remember also that the disciples ran like scared little rabbits when Jesus was crucified, and Peter denied him three times. Then, when Pentecost came in the book of Acts, these same scared and discarded rag tag team of men suddenly began preaching the Good News without fear or concern for their lives. More importantly, what Jesus said the world would look like and what John prophesied looks eerily like the world we live in today. Unfortunately, people don’t want to hear about the name of Jesus, it’s an offence to most. A lot of that has to do with the snake oil preachers on television and the prosperity preachers who own jet airplanes, drive around in luxury cars and live in million dollar houses. Or the Catholic Church, who make false claims about their deity and authority, cover up child abuse and create myths such as the Apostle Peter being responsible for establishing it. Something spiritual had to have occurred for a man to go from denying Jesus three times, to insisting that he be crucified upside down because he wasn’t worthy to die in the same way as his saviour. I too, am not a fan of churches, too many of them are about making money, and they are responsible for turning many people away from the truth. It’s okay to talk about God, even scientists are talking about God these days because the advancement of science has made it completely ridiculous to believe our world and universe happened by chance. There are little dials all throughout the univers that are interconnected, laws and rules about how things run. One percent to the left and we don’t exist, one percent up, down or to the right and it’s the same. So yeah, it’s ok to talk about God, but as soon as you say you believe in Jesus, people mock you, abuse you, calmly you an extremist etc But back on topic... Brian Kelly looks like he’ll End up being a goodun to me.

There is a difference between criticism of opinions and personal attacks like calling someone a fool , and being born from an egg
I accept criticism of my opinion but no one should except personal attacks .

I'm really suprised that a poster such as yourself, who is happy to call human beings "cancers on the group", etc, etc., then cannot handle being alluded to as a fool.

I never mentioned your name specifically as a fool, but if the shoe fits.....

There is very little doubt that Jesus lived and died. A far more powerful question would be...did he die and then live. I can give pretty strong evidence that the resurrection was a true event as well.

If this character with no physical father did live and was a threat to the roman empire / jewish status quo perhaps a deal was cast where the emporer let him esape to France with his wife and children and yet pretend to have sacrificed himself on the cross to save humanity? This would have helped to have him appear as a saviour.
Interesting that the cross symbol only began to be used by the catholic church hundreds of years later once they started to re-write their bible and allow the population to read it ( well the ones that they let learn to read).

So has Brian re-signed for 2019 yet?
I thought he was contracted for 2019.

Quote from the Telegraph May 28, 2018

“Brian is contracted for next year,” Gorman told The Daily Telegraph about Kelly, who has scored three tries in 12 games this year.

“Absolutely, he will be here next season.”

Kelly’s retainment is a big boost for a Manly side that has been plagued by off-field drama all season.
