The Life Of Brian (Kelly)

I beg to differ. I think "you people" are avoiding the truth and looking at things through Rose coloured glasses. I for one have never argued that he isn't young, a good man, or was struggling with form. I was a big fan of him early on in the season and still am. Some of his performances were absolutely sh-it (you call it struggling) and he deserved criticism where it's due.. He was dropped and "my people" were calling for it. Trent obviously agreed with "my people". BK also deserves accolades where they are due as well. But you carry on as if he has been nailed on the cross. No home cooked meals from mum, no brother in first grade to hold his hand and no love! What is this? He's not an orphaned refugee fleeing from Somalia! He's a 20yo man living the dream following his passion in the Northern beaches playing for the greatest rugby league club in this competition along his mates, staff who support him and you want to turn that into a sob story! Sorry mate I just see things a bit differently to you.
He is 21 years of age and 3 and a half months old
and old enough to cop a spray .
Being a passionate supporter I would rather praise our players and I must say It was a relief to see him have a fine game and I hope he continues to do the sacred maroon and white colours proud.
What I call abuse is when players wear the Manly jumper and play sh*t . That is what abuse is .
They abuse our great and proud winning club culture and the supporters that go out and watch them .

The Manly motto is if you cant handle the heat get the fck out of the kitchen
That is ....
If you cant do the Maroon and white colours proud get the fck out of the team

He was down on form and confidence and part of that was a pack of forwards playing a bit soft exposing him defensively and some blame on himself. But I get what Woodsie is saying,he is a young Aboriginal bloke not used to being far away from his support group and when things went bad he didn't have that close support to turn to which he was used to(large support group). He has managed to turn things around with the support of the club etc... and good on him and the club.

I think you are confused .... for the 10th and last time ... I have no problem with any or anybody criticising Kelly or anybody else ... when it gets beyond criticism to bagging the fukket out of a player simply to appear to be some sort of "tough" hard football judge ... then I think that says more about the writer than the player.

In your case, I don't believe your posts went that far ... My comments were directed solely at one individual who is a serial obsessional bagger .. you and another seemed to get dragged in when defending his opinion ... however as I have stated (now 11 times) it was never his opinion I objected to ...

PS .. for over 2 decades now clubs provide all sorts of "family" accommodation and support personnel to assist young men coming to Sydney because they recognise the high risk of a range of problems for them. This only occurred when the failure rate was rising to unacceptable levels.

It sounds tough saying ridiculous things like 16 year olds in the Army etc and thank goodness these tough guys have, and will never have anything to do with a football team or footballers in the real world.

The point being, I believe,,,,, the constant spamming of how sht Kelly was (is) playing is over the top imo, and this behaviour is quite commonplace on this site for some reason.

The point was made, was made again, and again, and again, and again, etc.
We all get the point, some agree, some disagree, but we all get what is being said.

And as to comparisons with 16 year olds fighting in the trenches....lmao.

And I doubt Kelly would even read the drivel on this thread, so the message will not be getting to him about how unhappy you are with him, unfortunately the rest of us have to read it, ad nauseam.

It's pretty black and white what @Woodsie is explaining and the difference between the two. I had had enough of Brian Kelly a couple of weeks ago and expressed my opinion that he needed to be dropped. Nothing wrong with saying a player has played sh1t or even getting frustrated and annoyed in the process. But when the frustration and opinions evolve into personal attacks on people's character and is followed by waves of abuse that some (of which I am one) thinks it has gone too far. Lewis Brown is a good example (though he has improved since he's come back from injury) to state that in my opinion Brown offers sweet FA and shouldn't be there.....is very different to attacking his character, and abusing the sh2t out of the guy. Back to Brian Kelly.....he and Siro were te two things I enjoyed most about last nights game, showed great desire and fight inside the kid.

Personal attack ??? Please provide an example

I'm not pointing fingers at anyone Bozo. Read through various threads on selected players or match day threads and it should be easy to differentiate between the two examples.
Well mate this is a NRL forum and not a sacred hearts club and we will continue to express our joys and disappointments and some passionate supporters on here take the inept players abuse of the sacred maroon and white colours personal

Good on you mate....nothing wrong with expressing your view. And as you've correctly slated this is a forum so if it's okay to identify and highlight a sh1thouse player, i guess it's also fine to identify certain posts and the author of them as being somewhat of a fukwit.....it all works out in the end.

And while we are heaping prise on Kelly, who was fantastic after a period of poor performances, what about mentioning the performance of Wright? He's not a great goal kicker, and is probably the slowest winger in the comp, but last night he was terrific in general play. He is really safe under the high ball and did his share of hitups and tough defence.
I've been critical of both players but last night I was beaming at the performance of them both.
Well done Brian and Johnno. You did yourselves and the club proud. Keep up that standard and you'll win us all over.

Haha totally agree
The subject poster (who obviously believes he is a passionate fan and has a right to say anything 1000 times) is in reality an embarrassment to other Manly fans.

Any player who wears the maroon and white deserves support, especially when they are busting their arises each week. They should not be bagged for not being good enough - we should be taking up this issue with our recruiters!
