The knockers

I just hate this thread. I really do. I hate this "I am a better fan than you attitude" crap that is often on here now.

Yeah, whoever started this crappy thread you are the best .....

It's tribal footy and a key game for our season, today was all about passion and emotion. It's that emotional connection that gives us that winning high and the losing low. After the last two weeks and being 18 - 4 down in the heat of the battle and with emotion what people write maybe irrational and harsh but it is based on emotion. What do you want ****en robots who just sit there numb to the game and accepting bad play and pretending we are going good ....

I'd hate to be the guy that sits there watching a game of footy with no emotion. We should all be happy after a great comeback win but instead someone starts another thread along the lines of "I am better than you" ..... bla, bla, bla..... F*ck that sh*t.

Thanks Snake. Well said mate. Some of the negative **** that gets posted on this site just blows me away.
Personally I just dont get how alleged "supporters" of the club can rip the team, players, structure, direction etc etc etc and still see themselves as "real" MWSE supporters.

Not interested in getting ANY FURTHER into the whole true supporters bull**** argument that regularly gets raised in this forum.

Each to their own I guess..............but loyalty to me is key in all things. Footy clubs as well.

Man there's nothing worse than a poster who holds back and neglects to tell us what they really think.

I dont really comment during the game , maybe throw in something at half time but it amuses me that the knockers dont come a knocking for a while when a thread is posted like this . Im thinking if we're doing it abit tough instead of deathriding get behind the boys.

Firstly, is there a specific knocker you have in mind? It's certainly not true that all knockers disappear when a thread like this appears. I was critical through that first half (I guess that qualifies me as a "knocker") and I turned up here to share my opinion on the thread... and I'm still here.

Secondly, the emotional dumping that happens during a thread has zero bearing on the team's actual performance on the field. There is just no cause and effect relationship between the two events. What we post on here in the forum is for our own individual benefit (or detriment). To think what we are sharing on here is affecting the team performance on the field is an hallucination. On the other hand, if you are personally choosing to be affected by what posters share on here then that is a different matter.

Emotional intelligence - the capacity to be aware of, control, and express one's emotions.

The keyword here is control; it's a game of footy and it's a supporter forum. Get a grip mate haha.

The fact that some of you are so butt hurt by my thread is really testament to the point of creating it in the first place 😉:hi:

funny, I thought the point of it was to prove the your way of supporting was better than everyone else's?

So you are saying that if we had lost today you still could've made this thread? Hmm..
 
Yeah any poster that doesn't just say 'yay manly' is not a true supporter and should not post on this cite.

Please knockers hang tough - if you see negative stuff, get the ****s, feel that the teams not giving their all etc call it as you see it. If you want to vent then vent. Without you Silvertails would be as boring as bat****. Everyone expresses their allegiance in different ways. Being a 'knocker' at times is part of that.
 
Agree with Kiwi Eagle.
All of us have differing opinions, and that's great. Constructive criticism is important.

Showing up once a week to simply stick the boot in to the players and club, after a game, adds little to the forum imo.
In fact, it actively detracts from what a "supporters" forum is all about.

I seriously think I get less negative/anti-Manly content on League Unlimited than I do on here, at times.
Thats is sad.
 
The old cliche game of two halves comes to mind today. I was at the game (with my roosters brother) and the softness of the roosters tries surprised even him. He also remarked how fragile our right edge looked, and at 18 to 4 I remarked my biggest worry was that our left edge had been the worry and now the right looked just as bad.

I thought the game could have gotten ugly. I thought a 50 to 4 score line was on the cards (especially given the last 2 weeks). To come back and win and win so well from here is a marvellous credit to baz and the boys.

Some on here are now believing it's all beer and pizzas and other all doom and gloom (or at certain points) the reality as usual is somewhere in the middle. That first 30mins was quite poor in parts and our defence looked ordinary. But then the comeback was superb.

We don't have to be all or nothing. We're not great or dirtbags, sometimes we are going ok, or good. Or not good etc.

Just because some may lack the emotional decorum of others doesn't mean that they are not supporters. I think the forums / thread that we are referring to are the "live" game threads. So you have to put the comments into context. I could have easily been portrayed as a "knocker" if I posted what I was actually thinking at any given time / moment where one of our players stuffed up. I didn't.. But I don't find it offensive when others blow off steam during a game as things happen and post things that aren't politically correct / positive. IMO this is what makes supporters forums unique, fun and entertaining.
