Hey remember when Foran held the club to ransom, made them pay overs for DCE after DCE was given a smaller contact, and also got the NRL investigating Manly for 3rd party contracts so that Manly had cap issues for 2 years.

Just reminding everyone!

The club is always bigger than the player.
You nailed it feathered friend

Great Players come and go but No one is Greater than our Legendary club

That has always prevailed by Great new Manly blood

Foran is a great player who has given good service since he came back. But he is 32 in a couple of weeks and is no getting any quicker and is one serious injury away from retirement. Two years is a risky proposition and the Titans needed to roll the dice. This club has historically let some of its best go before the end of their careers like Bozo, Vautin, Des and Menzies and they pursued a final pay day we couldn't match. Foran is no different. Time for Des and the club to move forward. IMO They made a huge mistake resigning DCE we won't win a premiership under him and the amount of the contract has been kept very quiet. We should be developing our juniors not allowing our feet to get stuck in the sands of yesteryear.

I’m a fan of DCE but you are so correct. He’s not the organising playmaker that can do around for years rallying the troops and getting them into position. He’s kicking game is great but once he loses a few meter in distance and then loses done pace he’s going to struggle to get into position.

We need to look to the younger players coming through. Hopefully the Schu fits.

Schu will be ready to take us to the next level next year at 6 .Halfway next season we will be sitting in the top 4 and hope he has no injuries .We are still in it this year but Schu has to get fit before the finals .Let's go Manly .

Maybe DCE is already on that downslope.

Jamie Lyon says it will take a year for Manly to adjust to the loss of Foran

Still adjusting to the loss of Lyon. Maybe also lyons. But I think manly will cope without Kieran.

Lyons gave his players belief that is what good leaders do. That belief is based on reliability, consistency and good decision making under pressure. We haven't had that level of leadership since his retirement.

This poor bugger spent his entire career here with people getting the surname wrong.

Looks like it's a burden Jamie will have to bear long into retirement.

They could be forgiven for thinking that there was two of him maybe, he was that good for us.

The extra things about Lyon, he was suprisingly quicker than most (plus knew the shortcuts), had a tackling technique up with the best - including great cover defence, a top kicking game including goal kicker, evasive runner at all levels and every he took every opportunity, to put his winger away and never took the Hog option....and to Top it off, had silky ball skills and timing to seemlessly slot in at 5/8.

Agree, Lyon was a true Manly legend and didn't fukk Manly several times like Foran did.
