He is one of the halves for the current world champion country.
He has won many many games for us.
Tooves wants him.
Bozo wants him.
His teammates want him.
I'm sorry, but I want him to stay too.
I do too. Who knows what happens behind closed doors

Lucky for us those certain board members are goneI agree it started last August......
When certain board members decided not to re-sign a club legend who was very popular amongst his team mates and who's little brother just happens to be the best player in the team. It wouldn't have taken too much intelligence to realise that Glenn should have been made an offer.
What Organization folds to the ultimatum of a few employees? 😎Not just that Bones, but the board were warned numerous times, prior to making their final decision --- by Foran and Matai and perhaps others --- that if Gifty wasn't re-signed, there would be serious implications within the team. It seems the Club did not listen then and have been paying for it ever since.
Hyndie confirmed it on the Matty Johns Show last night. Plus Skysports had it.I cannot find any evidence of the Eels upping their offer to the 5mil?
Thanks for filling me in.Hyndie confirmed it on the Matty Johns Show last night. Plus Skysports had it.
Also the Dalai clause has replaced the 1m damages clause.
http://www.rlpa.com.au/sites/default/files/Player - Agent Company Contract_0.pdfOut of curiosity, I’ve been trying to find online a standard copy of the NRL player contract. I know it exists and has to have as a minimum, certain clauses the NRL prescribes.
...
If anyone has seen the NRL version online anywhere, I’d be keen to know. It would answer a few questions.
Others will remember this more clearly but I think the media reports at the time were that for quite some time Manly were telling Gift they would talk to him about a contract but in the end did not, and after he signed with Souths the non-offer was explained either that we could not afford a contract that the NRL would accept as genuine, or that we would not insult him by offering a low deal we could afford. Or something like that...For what its worth I don't think he was not made an offer.
My guess is that Foran wants all his monies as Cap money.Re: Foz, the longer this goes, the more you think the Eels are out. If he wanted to go there, it would simply have been a matter of getting a contract they agree on and signing. He doesn't need to break it to his team mates as they already thought he was going anyway. Boom. Deal done.
So whether its us or someone else, you get the feeling he's not gonna be in blue and gold next year. Unless maybe its that ****ing Wolverine piece of **** jersey...
Yep, the NRL refused to register a contract for the amount we could afford and whilst it was a lowball number, Gifty was prepared to accept it to stay a one club player.Others will remember this more clearly but I think the media reports at the time were that for quite some time Manly were telling Gift they would talk to him about a contract but in the end did not, and after he signed with Souths the non-offer was explained either that we could not afford a contract that the NRL would accept as genuine, or that we would not insult him by offering a low deal we could afford. How do you know this? Are you a seer?Yep, the NRL refused to register a contract for the amount we could afford and whilst it was a lowball number, Gifty was prepared to accept it to stay a one club player.
The person I spoke to mentioned a figure of $250k, which coincidentally is what Lockyer was registered for in his final year and also what Minichelo was registered for in his final year. The view of the club was that the NRL has one rule for some and another rule for us. In the end the club didn't make that offer to Gifty because they had been told by the NRL that they wouldn't register anything less than $500k.
It's all water under the bridge now and it's very easy to see both sides of this story.
