Great idea, we overs centre money for Walker and replace him paying overs for a centre with Gutho.

AFB is obviously going to reqire an ugrade and so will Fainu if he continues his upwards trajectory. Stupid to pay positional overs to anyone considering our TPA attractiveness.

If we could get an Aitken or Staggs for $400k/$450k a year, then I'd take them over Gutuerson any day of the week.

Not to say Gutherson is not a good player and tries his guts out...but the cap is the cap.

We don't all have the contacts and resources outside the cap of the select few.

We should target Latrell Mitchell. I'm sure he is on 'not much' with most of it made up of uncle nicks third party deals...

And as we know, the third party deals are with the player and not the club, so all the third party payments would continue!

Just like Dale Shearer was back in the day. Andrew Ettingshausen as well. Both regarded fullback as their favourite and best position, but in rep footy it wasn't until specialist fullbacks Gary Belcher and Garry Jack retired that either got the chance to play fullback in Origin and Test football. Both spent the majority of their early years in Origin and Tests playing either wing or centre simply because they could and were too good to leave out.

Turbo is exactly the same. He is arguably the best fullback not only in the NRL, but in rugby league right now (when not injured), but because Tedesco is more a specialist fullback while Tom has shown that he is equally adept at centre or wing, Tedesco will, when fit, available and in form, always be selected in the NSW and Kangaroos #1 jumpers ahead of Tom. Tommy will only ever really play fullback in rep footy when Tedesco is either injured, suspended (not likely, he's a fairly clean player) or he retires from that level.

When it all boils down to it though, I don't think Tom really cares what position he plays in rep footy, so long as he gets to play.

The good thing for Tom is that Freddy sees him as potentially a better fullback than Teddy. Tom had the fullback spot until he had a few poor games where Freddy said he got sick of Tom throwing forward passes. He worked his way back into the side as a winger but the point is, Freddy is game enough to put him in at fullback if his form permits it. At the moment, Teddy is playing great and with Tom injured, he's a no-brainer at the back. But if Tom gets a full season without injury then he'll win that spot back.

Jake and Tommy need 5 year deals.
Tommy would have to be near enough to a million a year and if Jake's on 700....I reckon that's cheap.

We need to keep Manase. AFB will earn more and deservedly so. Marty won't ever come cheap.

I would trade any of these guys for a crack at Gutho. If Des wants him, make him an offer but I think the Squeels have already offered him what he's worth and probably a little bit more.

Gutho would be awesome but I agree, I'd rather the club sign up our guns first. Let Des and Crusher manage the squad.

Just like Greg Inglis during his Melbourne storm years. Billy Slater couldn’t adapt to wing & centre as easily as Inglis could. Teddy can’t slot in anywhere in the backline as well as Turbo can

But it only happens If the NRL allow full freight transfer; i.e. goanna salary is spendable.
