Makes perfect sense. I wouldn't pay him even what Mestrov offered on the air.

Didn’t the club prioritise Foz over DCE, but Foz secretly signed with Parra, prompting the rushed over the top desperate offer to DCE to backflip on the tits?

Someone on this thread will know more. I thought the club tried to keep both of them initially and that backfired.

Problem though is that any contract has to be registered with the NRL. Prior to that, it's just a handshake

I absolutely agree. DCE is a clever and methodical man. His next move was done and dusted before he went on TV. How it works in connection with NRL negotiation rules I do not know, but is likely another effect of the Magic Sombrero.

Not necessarily, as contract could have been signed in Feb and simply not yet lodged with NRL?

The way Uncle Nick works that is all their contracts

Can not remember who it was but I read an ex rooster saying the roosters under Nick would never back out

I don't really see that the players are off DCE to be fair looking at how they behave when they score and dce was involved, though as I understand from what I've heard, he's not centre of the larger group outside of footy at all.

it was all still on as of a few weeks ago prior to origin....no contract signed however just handshake.
if i hear anything else ill let you know.

I agree, but I still think it's almost a certainty that he'll be at the Roosters next year.

And really, while the most important thing for Manly supporters is that he won't be at our club, I'd be a little upset if another fanbase - especially the Roosters' fanbase - didn't get to experience the special, underachieving misery that comes from having DCE as the halfback of your team. Why should we be the only ones to suffer?
