The Daly Cherrygraph

After he backflipped on the Titans, I wouldnt rule it out.

DCE will not be at Manly.

There is a poster I believe his name is Jimmie(?), he seems to have good "intel" in and around the Roosters.

I'd be interested to read if he's heard anything on his side of the fence about a meeting mid-morning re DCE and the Roosters.

Apparently the remuneration package offered is now the subject of great conjecture and if what I'm told is true, I applaud the Roosters for "realigning their expectations" of value.

Makes perfect sense. I wouldn't pay him even what Mestrov offered on the air.

Does anyone honestly believe that DCE is "negotiating" with the roosters still? As if this was not all sorted out before he made his announcement.

Do you really think DCE would be without a plan / control on the situation?

If so I have a bridge to sell you

Problem though is that any contract has to be registered with the NRL. Prior to that, it's just a handshake

I absolutely agree. DCE is a clever and methodical man. His next move was done and dusted before he went on TV. How it works in connection with NRL negotiation rules I do not know, but is likely another effect of the Magic Sombrero.

The way Uncle Nick works that is all their contracts

Can not remember who it was but I read an ex rooster saying the roosters under Nick would never back out

Lets hope that take him before June 30 because he is doing bugger all for us on the field and he can't be popular with the playing group off the field.

With time to reflect as a group, its time that the leadership group got together and called it and took it out of the coaches hands

Dogging it

If not the loyalty factor and self belief in that group may be part if why the bar is so low in terms of accountability

I don't really see that the players are off DCE to be fair looking at how they behave when they score and dce was involved, though as I understand from what I've heard, he's not centre of the larger group outside of footy at all.

it was all still on as of a few weeks ago prior to origin....no contract signed however just handshake.
if i hear anything else ill let you know.

I think in my opinion he should retire and move on with the next phase of his life
I agree, but I still think it's almost a certainty that he'll be at the Roosters next year.

And really, while the most important thing for Manly supporters is that he won't be at our club, I'd be a little upset if another fanbase - especially the Roosters' fanbase - didn't get to experience the special, underachieving misery that comes from having DCE as the halfback of your team. Why should we be the only ones to suffer?

They certainly don’t have any problem getting rid of contracted players they no longer want. Look at Tyrell May, Brandon Smith & Dominic Young.
I can’t see them going ahead with the DCE handshake deal if they no longer want him when they cut contacted players like they do.

100% - it's easy to 'honour' a handshake deal when you're having them with the hottest commodities in the game. It's a different story when the player's form plummets and they're no longer helping track towards premiership glory.

He's in. Control alright.

And his plan to get released from Manly before June 30 and then magically find his mojo and steer the Roosters into finals footy is looking on track.

The only way Manly would entertain an early release would be to get something worthwhile in return.
