The whole thing looks like an elaborate plan probably hatched sometime last year and being carefully orchestrated to provide misinformation and red herrings to confuse the issue. Maybe this is to hide or confuse an illegal approach or deal with DCE.

I find it difficult to believe that Manly would shop a player around last year when he is coming off contract anyway. What would that achieve?

And now Gus is saying we had approaches for interest in DCE last year. Maybe he did but will he say who from? Possibly a player agent or an agents close relative, maybe DCE.

We don’t know, if Gus could enlighten us it might make this bit of information credible.

I feel exactly the same way. The people being disrespected the most are the long-suffering Manly fans. A television interview was NOT the way to go for our captain and a club legend.

How much better would you and everyone else feel if it was a press conference , at Brooky , announcing he was leaving for a two year major contract , plus coaching , plus media that could only be secured by one club.

Sorry Manly fans , my heart will always be here but sadly fairytale endings don’t always happen.

There wouldn’t be a dry eye in the house and we’d be broken hearted but we’d still cheer him as a champion.

I have grave concerns over him taking charge of a team & leading them around the field, calling plays etc.

I don’t think we are winning the comp with this or next years team. Our problem is the balance of the squad. Too much being paid to too few. The storm mastered the expensive spine, surrounded by workers. Manly just haven’t got the same value from DCE, Tom and Jake. We need a wider spread of talent and to stop paying overs to local juniors

The player manager may have instigated this, they are scum, but I doubt he held a gun to DCE's head. Cherry agreed to it too so is just as worthy of scorn.

I'd say his main skills are his ability to lead a team around the park.

Possible bullsh*t being Hooper but would make sense that Politis or Gould tried to throw a 4 year deal maybe $5- $6 mil at him back then. No doubt one of them has snagged him and if it's over $1mil a year then see ya later. We've wasted enough with zero results for the last decade. No more.
