The Daly Cherrygraph

That was quite a read (last 15 pages)
Haven't seen tv or read anything else.

What it does do is makes pay over for the next star. As the club is a shamozle

There has to be some aspect of this that he's not sharing. It makes zero sense to say he wants to keep his options open but not have Manly as one of the options.

The other thing here is that he's definitely angling for a post career media role with Nine. Giving them this "exclusive" access.
Agree with the second part… career at Nine guaranteed…

Having listened to Daly I reckon his decision comes down to 2 things:
1. He did not feel wanted by Manly
2. He did not want to dodge/deal with the same questions for the rest of the season whilst it played out

Now he does not have to deal with people he does not respect anymore and he can secure the best deal behind closed doors at his own pace…

So heading to Roosters next year to make him more marketable

I would be surprised if he left the beaches with a young family in school, house all that. The guy double spoke all through that interview - Sunday will be ugly.

I don’t get why people are surprised he wasn’t officially offered a new deal. He has literally been saying for months he’s considering retirement, why offer him a deal if his future in the game was undecided?
Yep. This is just his last eff you to whichever power brokers at the club that he secretly despises. He knows exactly where he is going next year, and I'm sure his decision would have coincided with a very expensive round of golf with a particular car dealership owner.

it’s a funny one, either dce is a slimy sneaky prick or the powers that be at our club are completely incompetent. Neither are a great look for the club.

In gobsmacked a club captain would behave like this .

He needs to be stripped of his captaincy. Watch him go into origin self preservation mode.

I seen him defend on a wing in 2022 for 80 minutes in round 24 or 25 vs Raiders so he didnt miss the Australian team selection. Foz busted his hump in that 48-6 loss.

Yeah and it would appear 9 are the main suitors for his services.

Yep and I will take him at his word… he seems bemused by the fact an offer was made today…
Manly and dce have been talking about his future since Dec, he knew what that contract was going to look like. He said that tonight.

BOOM, all of a sudden he is leaving, of course they have to put in an offer. I don't think manly saw him springing a surprise with out telling them first.

Hard decision to take but there probably isn’t a good time to make a transition. Sad to see him leave but at the same time the club also needs to move fwd. players that need to be upgraded etc so we’ll see how the season goes

DCE said he made this decision to leave in December, why the hell has he sat on this? To announce this in round 3 and now we know the truth its really a **** show.

The club now looks really in a bad light, and the memories of 2015 are haunting us.

The silver lining is we can finally balance our salary cap and get in a more balanced squad.

I am really disappointed in this outcome, it should have been a simple question, Do you intend playing on? Not playing ducks and drakes about it!
