The Daly Cherrygraph

Of course he did, that's exactly how it's played out.

He's obviously read and studied the Art of War.

I'm not watching the show but please, do not, in any way, shape or form believe that "no offer was made"...

The offers made were made, they weren't to his liking, so in the negotiation stakes, he's played them off a break however, it's completely scandalous for him to say (allegedly) that he didn't receive an offer.

He didn't receive an offer that he liked.

I'll keep my powder dry but if this is keeps up, I'm happy to contact certain people and have them understand that his manager was very active throughout the negotiations.

I'm just waiting until they use the coach v player fued as another reason.
Mentioned that there was no underlying issues with him moving on it was all about giving the club as much time as possible to go in another direction.

He did say playing origin was a priority for him.

I had lost respect with the silence when the media got hold of it a week ago and he never came out and said anything, I feel for the people at the club who empowered him to be club captain, they must feel horrible on how this has been handled and announced, a big show of disrespect from DCE to the club there no matter how he plays it out.

Sorry, you know better?

If club wanted him it would be done… most contracts are signed the September of the year b4 contract expires…

Manly wanted to negotiate hard and they have screwed the pooch… anyways, done now…

He gave ZERO indication as late as December that he wanted to play in 2026.

In late January 2025 he intimidated the he would consider playing on and the Club, said, rightfully so, well we have an idea on a figure, we'll communicate that to your manager and take it from there.

Now, hear me out, at that point, for a period of 4 weeks there was radio silence.

You tell me, do you think the Club would or should get into a bidding war with a manager who at the end of February started reaching out to other Clubs to gauge their interest?

You bid, they make a counter offer, you make a revised offer, however again, DCE has, rightfully so, chosen to do what's best for him but at the same time, you and your manager are coordinating at taking potshots at the Club.

Not your finest work Daly.

Yeah, I do, mate. DCE's performance tonight was Oscar-worthy. Please read some of @AndWeDon'tCare contributions in this thread and then wait for the facts to come out over the next week. Unfortunately, the 24-hour news cycle will have moved on by then, and some idiots will continue to believe DCE's fantastical narrative.

But the only way to show him respect is by offering him lots of money?
It is a value-based workplace… low-balling and/ir stalling is professional disrespect…

Fact is that THIS CLUB was in the best position to sign him… they chose not to and the fact that offers are being made today through the media is embarrassing…

So heading to Roosters next year to make him more marketable

I would be surprised if he left the beaches with a young family in school, house all that. The guy double spoke all through that interview - Sunday will be ugly.

I can see why Roosters signed Townsend for 12 months so quickly late last year.

DCE to partner Walker for premiership window.

Then working for channel 9.

As is not responding or being respectful of the process by "staying silent" for over a month as the composition of a deal (maybe not to his satisfaction) were being placed together.

I'm trying to remain measured here but it is becoming quite difficult.

Play him at prop for the rest of the year so he won't be any use to the Roosters.
No need for that. We still have him for this season. I don't wish him any ill will, but the absolute line of BS he has spun tonight leaves a sour taste in the mouth.

Anyway, Brooks to 7 with Walsh or Large to 6 next year. Buy a marquee prop and second rower with the cash savings, and move on.

DCE said he made this decision to leave in December, why the hell has he sat on this? To announce this in round 3 and now we know the truth its really a **** show.

The club now looks really in a bad light, and the memories of 2015 are haunting us.

The silver lining is we can finally balance our salary cap and get in a more balanced squad.

I am really disappointed in this outcome, it should have been a simple question, Do you intend playing on? Not playing ducks and drakes about it!

Wish he did it last year so we had Humphrys.

And you think four weeks of radio silence after Chez said he would play on is acceptable?

The club were in the best place to sign him… they did not and that has to come back to the value that the club assigned to him…

TODAY they come out with an inflated offer! Do you think that the club can seriously claim that they were unaware of an issue until today?

P*ss weak management imo…

It would be pretty apparent what his market value is (or is close to)…

Given the salary cap exemptions available to Manly in regards to DCE, it is hard to imagine that Manly could have come in so much lower than market value that he decided to leave instead… and then up the offer today? Wtf?
