Look I hope Des is not so petulant that he reads what we say and says to himself, its my team, I'm the coach, I know what's best, they are all amateurs. That would hardly be the wisdom of a dispassionate coach, who operates not on emotion but logic.
Doesn't matter if you're wrong from time to time, but it does if you don't learn from it. Sometimes what the other guy says is worth considering. If I was Des I certainly wouldn't be ignoring what Silvertails' supporters say. They tend to know their game fairly well, more than most supporters on average, and though they may have differing views, what is said is worth considering.
I don't know what's happening behind the scenes, but a lot of this sounds like personality issues. That's a most faulty way to consider action. I used to say in group programs I ran that emotions tell you about how you feel about something, but that probably isn't what the issue is really about, so they are never what you should act on. Understand where the emotion comes from, but only act on what seems the most logical course of action, having understood why you feel the way you do. You may be locked in some personal issue that has nothing really to do with the immediate problem you face. For example men often bash wives, not because the wife has brought it on, but because of larger issues in the man's life. She becomes the whipping boy (or girl) for other frustrations.
Maybe the club made an approach and all is forgiven...well I can hope cant I?
