Team Vs Storm next week. (Pre-Game Day Discussion)

Again, having seen him play since he was a kid, he can't cover 1-9. Horrible in the centres, worse than what you've seen from Brown, and has never played hooker, not a good defender, even front on, will be monstered in the middle.

If you want spark only, and no injury cover, then Cullen is the guy for the bench, not Jackson.
So you would rather Cullen, who can only play 1/2 or hooker, than Hastings who actually can cover fullback, wing, center, 5/8, 1/2, hooker & can kick goals??? Brown can cover center, hooker & back row, however we have 3 forwards on the bench so no real need for Brown to be honest! I've seen what Cullen has done & I have seen what Hastings has done & can do......so it's Hastings all the way. I also wouldn't mind seeing him as halves partner for DCE to be honest!!!!! Like I posted in another thread, having DCE, Hastings & Api running the show would be pretty exciting to watch! In any case I can see us losing Hastings if he's not given an opportunity & he will end up someone else's gain!!

theres not much need for 5/8 and half cover you do realise, it would be a bigger value add to have a proper hooker to give api a break, especially with cullen proving a threat with his running game from dummy half. dont get me wrong, i like hastings and his contribution however i feel cullen would provide more much needed energy off the bench.

You're kidding right? No need for 1/2 & 5/8 cover?? So better to go with 2 hookers than versatility? These days anyone can fill in as hooker, however if a half goes down then it makes it much much more difficult. Look at what happened to the Cows when Thurston got injured???

I'm not sure what part of he's never played hooker in his life is so hard to comprehend.
Mate, fully understand where you're coming from but if you look at some of the great hookers of the present past, they played in the halves first and then transitioned. Now, perhaps he needs to get some more time up in the halves/NRL before we could say he could do the same. However, it doesn't mean he can't play hooker. Monas, Toovs, P Wallace etc etc there are plenty of players that started as a 6/7 and went into the 9 very successfully. Just think he's worth a punt over and above Brown

Why Lewis Brown WHYYYYYYYY!!! Just give a young one a go, allow Hastings to be the lone utility of the side and have Paseka/another young gun with potential join him. Let's see what perretts got in him for this week though

Can i just ask where is all this hype coming for Hastings at 9. All would be doing is passing and tackling, he is not a fast player either. Just a question.
Because it's better than putting brown there, who has no idea who he's passing to, cannot kick and as slow as.

You don't think Hastings can cover hooker more effectively than Cullen? I thought Cullen's passing was erratic when he came on, and Hastings defence is a lot better as was evident at the roosters last year (ave 0.8 missed tackles per game).

So a couple of injuries in the forwards. Good to see Parker back from injury - seems to be coverage for Uate (with no Matt Wright in the extended squad).
