I've seen some dumb footy in my time but the Tigers attempting speccy 2 point field goals with 5 minutes to go to force a game into golden point takes the cake. Imagine coaching that level of stupid
The last time I saw that was when I was coaching the U/8s Burleigh boys.Having no dummy half there at the end almost trumps the field goal attempts as a level of stupid. There's something to be said for recruiting intelligent players, not just big and fast
Not only once, they tried it again a few minutes laterI've seen some dumb footy in my time but the Tigers attempting speccy 2 point field goals with 5 minutes to go to force a game into golden point takes the cake. Imagine coaching that level of stupid
I’m so glad it was…Let's not forget that Madge's preference as coach was The Tigers instead of Manly when we were looking for a coach after golden boy left.
Each $hit Madge
Was especially funny that it was Adam D as well...his little spat at Marty for tripping him on his way to a particularly lame try celebration really irked me...thus, I took great pleasure in seeing his stupidity hit new heights against the Warriors.I've seen some dumb footy in my time but the Tigers attempting speccy 2 point field goals with 5 minutes to go to force a game into golden point takes the cake. Yes I saw the second one and had the same thought. Just regular torrents of abuse mainly!I've watched both episodes and the thing that struck me was in every speech Madge gives the players it's all about attitude/trying hard/pride in the jersey/doing it for the fans etc. There is never any tactics discussed nor is there any mention of the opposition's strengths or weaknesses. He seems a very one-dimensional coach.
Now, I presume that he does analyse the opposition and devise different game plans yet I've seen nothing of this intel in the documentary. Perhaps there is an agreement that such material would not be shown which leads to the question: just how accurate is the doco?
He is their best player though, looks like he actually takes winning seriously! Was especially funny that it was Adam D as well...his little spat at Marty for tripping him on his way to a particularly lame try celebration really irked me...thus, I took great pleasure in seeing his stupidity hit new heights against the Warriors.
I imagine there would definitely be some sort of agreement about tactics, etc. The season is still playing out and if the Tigers approach to match play is openly discussed, it could compromise the integrity of their performance...however poor it is.I've watched both episodes and the thing that struck me was in every speech Madge gives the players it's all about attitude/trying hard/pride in the jersey/doing it for the fans etc. There is never any tactics discussed nor is there any mention of the opposition's strengths or weaknesses. Agreed. If Manly had the chance to recruit one Tugger then he would be my choice. He is their best player though, looks like he actually takes winning seriously!
That's the sad reality of the Tigers predicament though...a rookie Bunnies 'cast off' of moderate talent is your greatest asset and leader. He is their best player though, looks like he actually takes winning seriously!
