I got into work this arvo.... Went to make a coffee and some bugger had used the (wet) spoon in the SUGAR after dipping it in coffee first. Deplorable and obviously an #crisis moment!!

That spoon was probably licked, Komori... Now that'd qualify as a crisis...

We have had plenty of crises since 1947 but we have never had to worry about getting a "spoon".;)

What about Stewart?
Or do they only go as a Triumvirate?
The Holy Trinity.

Stewart has two more years of his contract left after this year and its already a sizable package from what I hear. I also wonder how much longer those legs of his will last. Two years probably, but after that could be a big question. Hope so but then realistically the Club may need to wait until 2016 to make the decision about his future from there especially with Gutherson and Tom Terrific potentially ready for permanent first grade spots.

Well if they are all planning on bailing then they'd better damn well win the 2014 Premiership first!

"A couple of months ago The Daily Telgraph's James Hooper broke the story Anthony Watmough was unhappy at Manly. Well, he's told Triple M NRL nothing has changed. The Manly and Origin back-rower wants to be released from the final year of his contract to join Parramatta."

Worst case scenario, the club had better start planning how to put together a decent team for 2015 possibly without 5 representative players from this year.

Had a good chat with Steve Gigg the football manager last night, I have become quite good mates with him after we had a lot of interaction before during and after the WCC tour.

Grabbed him aside and said "do we believe all this bull**** in the papers".

He laughed and said it was a LOT less of an issue than the papers made it out to be.

There's probably no doubt about some of them originally being pissed off but I think they are starting to realise that it's a balancing act between keeping some younger players (who are the future) and just having a side all in the mid 30's with all the new talent at other clubs.

Personally I'd be VERY surprised to see any of the players currently contracted playing elsewhere in 2015, I may be wrong but bet I'm right on the money!!

Matty Johns/MMM are getting as bad as the [email protected] with the ratings, I guess, for Matty's p1ss poor Monday night show.

One thing Parra wont have is the money to pay out Chocs final year at Manly....

agree Frogz, and it makes his interview with the weed a while back clearing the air about him and Chez, saying all is ok,we sorted it out,and I dont know where the rumour started or came from about me wanting to go to Parra started ,I want to stay a one club man, look very hypocritical,if he still wants to go there, which I Doubt he really does,I believe what Mark from Brisbane said, after his chat with Steve Gigg

I'm not sure how we even continue to have all these players. Didn't they all going with des to the dogs?

When they realise they should all be playing for the Dogs surely it will derail our 2014 campaign...

Private talk between Geoff Toovey and Kieran Foran clears way for Manly title push
DEAN RITCHIE THE DAILY TELEGRAPH AUGUST 21, 2014

MANLY star Kieran Foran has revealed he called a clear-the-air meeting with coach Geoff Toovey to discuss his “feelings and frustrations” at the club’s off-field dramas.

And Foran claimed on Wednesday he doesn’t regret a well-publicised press conference last month where he became the first Manly player to admit there were internal “issues’’ at Brookvale.

Foran’s comments attracted back page headlines, the Kiwi champion admitted the issues hadn’t “gone away” although players had now poured their entire focus into winning a premiership.

The issues Foran refer to include Manly’s decision not to re-sign Glenn Stewart, the decision to deny Steve Matai a release to join New Zealand and requests from Brett Stewart and Anthony Watmough to be released.

Asked about his July 24 interview, Foran said: “I was frustrated that day. I think I made it well clear that I had some stuff in my head. I love my mates and I aired what I thought it.

“I have moved on from that now. We are just concentrating on playing good footy week in, week out, and building some momentum going into the finals.”

Asked did he regret his comments, Foran said: “No, no I don’t regret any of it. I love all the boys here and I didn’t mean to put the club under any pressure.

“Obviously I had a bit going on in my head at the time. I spoke how I was feeling. I think they (Manly) understood where I was coming from. They could tell I was frustrated.

“I ended up having a chat with ‘Tooves’ about it later that day, clearing a bit of the air. He was good about it. The club left me alone.

“I wanted to have a yarn to him and express my feelings and frustrations on things. It was a nice, private chat, it was good.”

Despite the drama, Manly remain two points clear at the top of the NRL table. And Foran has been in absolutely stellar form.

Asked had the “issues” he discussed vanished, Foran said: “No, I’m not going to lie, I don’t think they’ve gone away. But we’re not focusing on it as much. There are three weeks until the finals and we have to focus on footy.”

The playing group somehow has shoved the drama to one side.
“We are pretty good like that here. We see stuff in the papers and we just leave it alone,” said Foran, preparing for Friday night’s game against Parramatta at Pirtek Stadium.

“The boys all realised I had expressed my feelings and just put it to bed. We just left it at that.”

Foran said the club was happier than a month ago and were only looking ahead.

“It’s always hard with things that are going on. I don’t think we have hidden from that, it’s a difficult period,” he said.
“We’ve got a talented team, it gets to that difficult period where contract negotiations come up. The thing that has impressed me is that we’re professional enough to just do what we need to do on the field when we cross the line for 80 minutes.

“That is what we pride ourselves on and that’s what we are looking at the moment. We’re not focusing on any of the off-field stuff, we have just put that to the side and put our heads down and build something.”

This particular quote says to me that they really don't discuss it among themselves at all. Strikes me that it is largely media and player-manager driven. Sadly, this is the way the game is going.

Nothing new in the article really. Problems are still there. We will just have an off season of crap again.

I'm certainly no business man, so can someone please explain to me why we would pay one of the best players in the competition $300,000 to play against us.

Because he is owed that from previous years

Sorry for the confusion Ralphie....I was just having a dig at the idea of us willingly letting a champion player break his contract with no benefit or recompense to the club.

I understood what you meant.

There is no way we will let him leave, let alone leave while a portion of his salary is still covered by our cap.

It is a shame that we won't get to enjoy the grand final win again this year because of all the off field crap.

The $300k is money owed from previous years due to back ending of bonus' etc.

Not sure if it has been mentioned here but Paul Kent (sorry did I say something wrong) was asked who would be the first to leave Manly. He said Matai but not until after 2015. Ok everyone one has guesses and half educated guesses but that is his take for what it is worth.
