Here's the view from my hotel room today. It's not much but it was hat's first trip away from home. (I didn't want to go outside in the cold to get a prettier pic)

Are they protesting the wrong date as wouldn't 'Invasion Day' have been when Cook landed in 1770 on 29 April? Cook's men actually shot an Aborigine. There was another conflict later at what is now Cooktown.

The First Fleet didn't shoot anyone on the day they landed in Sydney in 1788.

The 26th January 1788 is the foundation day for NSW.

Why the rest of Australia celebrates it as Australia Day is pretty stoopid.

Then again NSW doesn't celebrate Jan 26 as NSW Day.
