Should Turbo/DCE Play State of Origin?

I think I'd prefer DCE to play Origin as I'd probably enjoy watching us more in those weeks he isn't there, good for NSW if he plays as well.

I'd say Tom needs to repay the club at this point though. We likely lose this weekend and head into the bye at 3-5. After that it's two more tough games with Sharks at home and Cowboys away, every chance we lose both but let's say we win one and are 4-6 heading into the Origin period. I don't think it will look particularly good if Tom goes off to Origin again when we're outside the 8 and needing wins, when he's only just returned from another injury. There's no way he backs up either so I think at best we'd have him for 2 of the 6 games we play over the period.

Time to repay the club, he was allegedly wanting to pay back some of his salary last year but that was never going to be allowed, this is an actual opportunity to give back.

No chance Jake gets picked and Haumole should but likely won't, which is good for us anyway.

Is there any fear that if Turbo is selected for State of Origin the NRL will deem a higher minimum amount for his next contract than might otherwise be the case?

But he does not have the Big Play any more
I do not think he will be selected over the more inform , faster and furious forwards

DCE is the most Eligible Elite QLD no7 and Leader
He should make him self available like all other Elite players do

I’d have a fit turbo over everyone in that list. Still don’t want him in origin though.

If DCE plays Origin obviously Manly will need a different captain...
Maybe that would be the ideal time to make the change permanent...
Captaincy stays with the replacement captain as part of natural progression of moving towards life without DCE...

I remember the days when Mighty Manly Warringah SeaEagles had half of NSW&QLD team with our players. I'm in the ACT so I couldn't give a **** who wins, I've always gone for the teams with more Eagles players, also QLD is Maroon I love the colour. We've a rich history of QLD players so to me they're all Eagles. I bleed Maroon forever, it was tough who to go for let me tell U, I just hope none of them get injured.

Sad yes but great for the team! Although wouldn’t really care if DCE was picked. At least someone else gets to show their worth & who knows could surprise. The way DCE is playing for us currently it wouldn’t be a great loss!

Dce will absolutely play if selected. Selfish is the only thing he does consistently

Tom needs to sting some games together and really should lighten his load and not play to give his body half a chance

Jake would not get selected in a third string origin team

Hudson young will get haumole spot, both in form but young has been incredible.

Origin period is our last chance to make up the ground we have lost, if the team even wants to do that

Of course DCE will play…..he’s not gonna forgo the big dollars.

DCE will play $30k a game, he wont want to miss out on that. Tom should retire from any rep footy and pay Manly back, by "maybe" staying uninjured for longer. The more he plays the closer he gets to yet another injury lay off. Surly they wont pick Jake on form alone.

I honestly will be pi$$ed off big time if Trbo is selected for Origin & gets injured. The club should the medically retire him or release him because that would show his commitment is not to Manly!

Trbo’s priority is Origin before club. Always has been unfortunately.

I don’t blame players for wanting to play rep footy…..as a player it’s the highest honour, why wouldn’t they want to play…..

The clock is ticking for all of them and if selected this year it could be their last origin series. It is more of a spectacle than internationals. So I see the desire to play just disappointed nobody makes sacrifices for the club and team anymore.

I also think it goes beyond doing the right thing by Manly. Turbo has played plenty of rep footy but has had very little success at club level when it comes to finals footy. Looking back on his career I’m sure he’d be disappointed if there was never a premiership or at least a grand final. By stepping back from origin even just for one season and focusing on Manly, it draws a line in the sand and puts the team in a better position to go deep into the season.
