Went through the stats on the NRL app and thing that stuck out was ineffective tackles 26 to 3. That says to me that they have subconsciously clocked off or unwilling to give that extra effort. This comes down to the coach, the DCE saga which involves an incompetent front office, fatigue and the feeling that it's just not worth putting in the effort. Not sure if Siebs is the guy to turn this around. Bring on round 9

I think this round will place us where we deserve to be. Top half of the bottom eight or bottom half of the top. Not genuine contenders but not the worst team in the league.. Kinda average..

Like I've asked ... other than his pace or anything to do with his pace, what exactly does Koula offer at fullback??

He's not the playmaking type to set up tries for others like Snake was and Turbo is. His defence is OK but under a bomb he can be suspect.

Personally I'd rather he be out on the wing. In fact, if I was the coach, and thankfully that's a nightmare none of us have to live through, I'd have had Koula and Garrick on the wings today with Faulalo and Talau in the centres.

I think the try the young lad Purdue at the cowboys scored showed how Koula should be used. Bring him into the middle against tiring big men, with his quick feet he's always a chance of breaking the line.

Yeah, he was probably our best last week and was close to invisible today.

Caught up on the game late since I couldn’t watch it live. What a weird game. Pretty much the result I expected, but gosh I feel like we could’ve easily won that if we were even half decent. Cronulla were not good at all, yet somehow we were just trying to chase their lead down constantly after the 35th minute. Every time we got close, they’d score another though. Attack looked so predictable and boring, why can’t we run those nice overlap plays we do with Turbo when Lehi is at the back? Little bit worrying when we still lose despite arguably being the better team.

Worst bit about everything though is making William Kennedy look like prime Billy Slater, WTF. How do we let that egg head whip out a prime Turbo 2021 run to beat 6 and score? Firstly we leave so much space on the edge after the bomb you’d have enough time for a Seibold maccas nap, wake up and still make it to score. Thank goodness that was taken off, far out. Then Mr DCE really goes crazy and flies out looking like the most gullible man in the game for 2 of his dummy’s. Bruh. Did they offer him an early move to the Roosters if he managed to get an intercept today?

In all seriousness, please Turbo just get a nice run of games in, we desperately need him it seems. If he gets a run v Penref and then has the week off right after it could be okay. Our attack is non existent without him. Putting 40 on Canberra was a bit of a fluke, but don’t forget we couldn’t create anything to save our lives for the first quarter and a bit until they got the bin anyway, the worrying signs were there. Last week was awful all round, but again we struggled to create until they stopped caring when up by 38.

Anyway, I think we win next week, kinda set up for a classic Manly bounce back win at home, but who knows at this point. I will say if we lose, I’m really worried because it seems this year all we can do is beat the average sides, if that ability goes, we’re in big trouble.

Seibs said in the presser Turbo will return in round 8 (vs Panthers).

FYI also said Saab back next week (Dragons), Croker round 7 or 8. Haumole bruised his shoulder but should hopefully be ok (fingers crossed).

Definitely looks a bit brighter over the next 2 weeks. Need a good win next week at home to get some spirit back into the side, they look a bit clunky.

Also why were they proud again in the presser that we only lost by a small margin to a team that was 2-3 going into today. Need to adopt some Bellyache and hold the team accountable for poor efforts 😭

I was optimistic about Tevaga at hooker after round 1 but that game fooled a lot of us. Not really his fault, he’s barely played there in the NRL since he debuted but we’ve ignored the position for so long that he’s the unfortunate one that’s been put in there. Felt he cost us with some poor options in that first 20-25 where we had the majority of the ball and field position.

What I would like to know is why we wouldn’t use him again at all when we could bring him back on through the middle, where we’re already struggling with guys like Jake and Sipley lumbering around in the heat. Surely with Croker back he can move back to the bench and Sipley can drop out, if it’s Simpkin dropping out I might flip out

I agree! I thought he was great at fullback when Tom.was out. They gave that role to Hoppa just to keep him. To many wingers and backs

Lackluster attack certainly did not help and Sharks hardly played that well either but at least a good effort defensively in the middle in the main containing a fairly solid and robust Sharks pack .
Some of the broken field defence hardly ideal though .and a few too many off loads , a real negative
Seem to really miss Paseka 's ability with good go forward in the middle , Alioia has been doing better recently , Bully a bit restricted and almost negligible impact from Jake, Brown , T K O and Sipps .
Hardly helped also with the lack of variation on the sweep plays but lack of middle momentum hardly helped that cause as well .
Could be a case for putting Koula at the back , T T 2 to centre and Lehi back to the wing .
Not too sure how to improve the middles 's problem with only possibly Navale and Patolo to look at but apparently the Cup side not going that well either with their last result .
just have to somehow get better with the attacking options when pressuring the line or general attack .
Have played enough games without Turbo at the back now to try and still have some worthwhile plays .
May have been a winnable game yesterday if their attack and broken field defence could have been in better order but frustratingly just can not seem to find that extra gear when it really matters and especially when a couple of key players are out .
Not too
sure when Croker is available again but would definitely be inclined to keep Simpkin in the mix

His best games by far have been at full back.
