Match Stats

Very poor game from a few
Sharks weren't that good today we just played more poorly than them
At the back end of that game we looked gassed and derived of energy.

Dragons will smoke us on Thursday and then you know panthers the one week they turn up will be against us
You are very kind ... we looked gassed 10 minutes in, I was going to say 5 minutes in but your kindness seeped into me

We are 3-3, so it's not doomsday, but the lack of consistency does my head in.

I watch all the other clubs that have young forwards come through with good leg speed and line bending ability. We have nothing. A pack full of ageing plodders

Bring Caleb in. Burbo, Jurbo, Toff and Brown are offering nothing.

Our insistence on going to Burbos edge and slipping the inside pass to him kills me. I dead set believe he is slower than Jake.

Tommy T can't be on the wing, he's too slow, the way he was run down from that intercept was terrible. Put Koula out there to actually let him use his speed. We missed Saab big time.

Anyways, Im going to stop thinking about this team for 5 days. But I'm not confident against any team in our current state

Especially if Ola is injured. It's the second time this season he's been clutching at that arm.
The same arm that he dislocated the elbow, the season before his NRL debut.

We should play Tommy T in the 2nd row instead of Burbo. Honestly he would be perfect there in attack. Defence i don't know but Burbo has to go he's got nothing. And you are correct we keep going to his side its embarrassing. At least get bully there in attack so we can make a break or produce an offload. Ben is a bench player he can cover a few positions

I'd have Koula FB, offers more in attack. Hoppa wing, has speed and good finisher. Talauo in the centres. Without Turbo, we have become way too predictable and the other teams have worked us out. We need a forward with mongrel and a big motor. Should've gone for May when the chooks released him.

I'm out of the country a few weeks and this is the first of a few games I'll miss.

Without setting off a hornets nest, how did we play?

Would love to hear a somewhat objective view.
in short, like custard ......

To mis quote a famous person, You can't expect to keep doing the same thing again and again and expect a different result. No go forward players standing still and not running onto the ball, wingers playing in the center's and center's playing on the wing, no leadership from the halves total lack of discipline around the rucks. I hope this is not the game plan from the coach, however since it appears to be occurring each week so I have my doubts. As for the leadership coming from the head office ,again to mis quote another person a fish rots from the head down.

Pretty ordinary game of footy from both sides tbh. Not a lot between them really. I wonder if both sides struggled a bit getting their bearings on the cricket pitch and it was hot. Cows and Souths seem to have similar issue. Both games low scoring at the half.

Our attack was noticeably poor today. Lacked organization and structure (dce that’s you pal!). We are who we are without Tom. We all know that. Today’s performance was a typical Tomless display really. Just another season with the same old crap injuries impacting each week. Thought Aloiai, Simpkin (played decent minutes), Guac, Lehi and Brooks were all pretty good.

Losing away to the sharks isn’t the end of the world, but clear as day they have issues much like us.

On to the Dragons, which we’ll prob win, however it won’t be inspiring I wouldn’t think. Fingers crossed when Tom comes back, he comes back fit and firing and our season changes. But we know how this story plays out. We’ve lived it far too often.

The sad thing is that a fit and in form Turbo would instantly transform today's lot into Top 4 contenders. Maybe not quite Premiership material, but definitely contenders.
Agreed. And I hope the Lehi to fullback push ends now. The back 3 were shown up as being way too slow..

Went through the stats on the NRL app and thing that stuck out was ineffective tackles 26 to 3. That says to me that they have subconsciously clocked off or unwilling to give that extra effort. This comes down to the coach, the DCE saga which involves an incompetent front office, fatigue and the feeling that it's just not worth putting in the effort. Not sure if Siebs is the guy to turn this around. Bring on round 9

Like I've asked ... other than his pace or anything to do with his pace, what exactly does Koula offer at fullback??

He's not the playmaking type to set up tries for others like Snake was and Turbo is. His defence is OK but under a bomb he can be suspect.

Personally I'd rather he be out on the wing. In fact, if I was the coach, and thankfully that's a nightmare none of us have to live through, I'd have had Koula and Garrick on the wings today with Faulalo and Talau in the centres.

Quick question is a tackle classfied as ineffective if the attacker gets an offload ?
