Sharks in cap trouble

Whilst I'm glad to see another club have their turn of being dragged through the mud by the incompetent clowns running the NRL, the salary cap and its enforcement will have no credibility until the Roosters go down for their obvious rorting.

Funny you say that.....I had a look and next year they are going to have 11 current and 5 past internationals on their books, plus two who have "only" played Origin.

Victor Radley is likely to be their only first choice starter who has not played Origin and/or Test football.

And yet they can have all those representative players and still have another 12 players, all under a $9.4M salary cap? Not bad when you consider at least 3 of them (Tedesco, Cronk and Angus Crichton) will be earning around $1M each out of that.

Its the early-mid 90s Brisbane all over again.

In more breaking football news the NRL are claimed to be in negotiation with the Sydney Roosters for access to the personal phones of executives of that club. Nick Politis is reported to have offered to turn over a 1966 bakelite dial phone. The NRL are said to be simperingly grateful.

Wow, that's a lot of golf for Nick Politis to be playing.

The rorters have to be stopped to give this comp any credibility at all. To me it rings serious alarm bells when in the space of 5 years there's been massive hype and promotion about them signing SBW and then Cronk, to win competitions. Both years there was plenty of television coverage, tips for them to win and surprise, surprise. Two trophies. The 2013 one particularly dodgy due to blatant ref 'oversights'.
Meanwhile the lead cap auditor is an ex Rooster.
In 2018 you could have predicted it'd be a storm/chook GF in the off season. Todd's most 'even comp in the world' is such a load of corrupt shyte!

Buzz will try to drag us into the Sharks **** storm anyway he can and Gorman is the only link. Gee I would love the Rorters to be properly investigated.

An actual transcript of an exhaustive NRL investigation into the Roosters salary cap has been leaked.

NRL investigator: Nick, are the Roosters salary cap compliant?

Politis: hahahahahahahaahahhahhhahahahhahahahahahahahahahahhahahahhhahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahhahahahhahahahahahajajahahahahahahahahhahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahhaahhahahahahhahahahhahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahahaha

YES!

Hahahhahahahahahahhahahahahhahahahhahahahhahahahahhahahhahahahhahahahhahahhahahahhahahhahahahahhahahahahhahajahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhaahhahahahahahahahaha

NRL investigator: thank you for your time

Politis: hahahhahahahahhhahahhahjahhahahahhahahahahahahhahhahahhahahahahhahahhahahahahahahhahahahahhahahahhahahajahahahahahahaha

Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan is reportedly being investigated by the NRL after the code's integrity unit uncovered evidence he communicated with the club during his 12-month suspension in 2014.

There was an edict, under the terms of Flanagan's suspension, imposed following the supplements scandal that engulfed the club, that the coach was to have no direct or indirect contact with officials and players.

If Flanagan is found to have broken any rules, he could face another ban and the Sharks a big financial penalty. He reportedly met with his manager Wayne Beavis on Tuesday to address the matter.

I hope the NRL puts Cronulla through the same sh!tstorm they put us through, including preventing them from being able to sign any new players - oh wait, Shaun Johnson just signed with them!

The one sided nature of the No Real Leadership is plain to see, rules for some , different rules for others , no rules for a select few.

Also you know since it is the off season no nrl 360 or triple m daily having slanging matches and hosts destroying our image.. no sharks are getting off so easy on the media front as well

I still find it extremely hard to believe that the Sharks were supposed to be cheating in 2015 and 2017, but in 2016 when they won the premiership they were apparently squeaky clean.

I mean, come on.....just how dumb do they think league fans are?? (then again, reading a lot of the posts on Facebook.....the answer is probably "very").

IMO their arrogance is such that they really don't care. They will find some way to distinguish the circumstances of the Cronulla case to justify the wrist slap they get as opposed to what they did to Manly. Permitting them to sign Shaun Johnson was a disgrace when you consider they wouldn't even let us extend contracts for existing players. There is no logical explanation for this inconsistent approach. In fact it might even prevent the NRL from imposing a future restriction on the Sharkies salary cap just as they did to us. IMO the NRL are hypocrites!
