Salary Cap Witch Hunt. **Appeal unsuccessful**

I'm sure the Manly hierarchy are collating all of this & are just waiting for the 'not guilty your honor' verdict....then bring hell upon all those involved in this witch hunt. I hope they clean up that b@#$h so that she is rendered homeless & having to live on the streets forcing her into prostitution to support her family!
Is that a little harsh?
No

Wow is this woman for real, I just can not believe the constant vitriol, innuendo and mud slinging towards Manly.

I have obviously lost all respect for this so called professional journalist. But if I was a member of the public with just even half a brain, surely they could see she has crossed the line in her role as a journo. She is not partial, balanced or fair. She has a clear agenda and is driving it at every chance possible. And this is exceedingly worrying on so many levels.

Take a look at the link from the MEAA journalists code of ethics and then the link to the Australian Press Council Standards of practice.

https://www.meaa.org/meaa-media/code-of-ethics/

Out of the 12 standards on the MEAA link above I can say she has clearly broken at least the first 5 and maybe more.

http://www.presscouncil.org.au/statements-of-principles/

And again out of the 8 General Principles on the Aust Press Council link above I can also say with certainty that she has broken all 8.

What I am trying to say is that this is truly unacceptable and money over moral is not an excuse. I understand that this may seem idealistic or simply unrealistic to some. But I am sure there are many people that agree with me, because this is not right and this is not fair or informed journalism it is rubbish geared entirely for money and/or as click bait. One day I hope the system collapses and something new takes it place, (the same goes for our legal and political systems, but that is a story for another day). Although I do admit that the news print media is collapsing a little though which is nice to see, as I know many people that simply do not read or buy the toilet paper anymore and this is hurting them, whether they will say it or not.

No wonder society is in a mess. Our priorities are so mixed up. When truth is withheld and lies are publicly applauded - these are the days that put our society on extremely shaky ground.

We do have hope though, many of us are getting really, really fed up with it all...!

End rant.....!

(Apologies for my rant, but I am just so disgusted and it just beggars belief how she keeps churning this rubbish out, just unbelievable. And that she is seemingly allowed to get away with it, just disgusts me further more.)

One of the NRL’s longest-running sagas is set to end within weeks as NSW Police prepare to close the book on the match-fixing investigation.

The Australian understands NSW Police are likely to formally announce the end of the investigation without any charges being laid, removing at least one of the dark clouds hanging over the NRL and Sydney club Manly since last season.

Another dead end Turdberger. When will we get an apology for derailing our season and jeopardizing crucial sponsorships, merchandise sales and crowd support

What is the latest with our salary cap drama from months ago? I haven't heard anything. Are we clear yet?

I am pretty sure Teflon Toddy will keep this fire burning for another 12 months or so

2017-10-17 Former Manly NRL player Brett Stewart wins defamation action over match-fixing claims

Former rugby league player Brett Stewart has won defamation action against News Limited over an article linking him to match-fixing allegations that appeared online for a few hours before it was taken down.
.
.
Police set up Strike Force Nuralda in September 2016 to investigate allegations that six Manly players had been given secret payments of $50,000 to manipulate the outcome of matches, following suspicious games against South Sydney and Parramatta in the 2015 NRL season.

But police discovered no evidence of systemic match-fixing, and turned the focus of their investigation towards an alleged trade in inside information and salary cap breaches.

The salary cap that is a joke and constantly manipulated by clubs with access to significant assistance from TPAs. Insider trading and salaries breaches is analogous to being on turkey shoot but being selective about which turkeys you shoot. It’s just an insult to our intelligence.
