Salary Cap Witch Hunt. **Appeal unsuccessful**

Mark I don't think either side can afford to lose if they take this to the next level. I suspect a behind the eyes of the public deal will be reached, that appeases Manly but makes the League look compassionate, with a caveat that the League will ensure their rules regarding salary caps are much more user friendly.

Yes, that does sound logical and I wonder if that’s what the big delay is about?

It really seems that neither party really want to take it to court, but the NRL have more to lose if it does.

Wheeling and dealing being done behind closed doors so both parties get a "win".

I'd be happy with the fine for this year sticking, but next years fine being suspended.

Should find out very soon!

Which is what should have happened right from the get go, unfortunately greenturd let his hatred of Manly get in the way of making that sensible decision

Well last week there were rumours we’d know this week, but clearly the NRL didn’t get the memo and you’d now think ( given its Origin week ) that it’s now at the very earliest, and yes you know you want to see it again ......

The longer this goes on, the more I sense a deal being arranged. I'll be very surprised if Manly has any deduction on its salary cap next year. The big question is whether Manly will get this years money as well.

I gave that an agree as I do actually agree, there’ll be some win/win agreement and I’d expect the following.

1) Manly agree that technically they broke the rules and agree to cop the $330k fine for 2018.

2) The NRL agree that the rules were ambiguous, and nearly all clubs have been breaking the rules and so the fine will be for 2018 only and the rules will changed.

The cherry on top would be fining every other team out there for breaking the salary cap through TPAs. Except for the Roosters, because they have no cap.

Starting to wonder if the NRL might sneak an announcement in just before SOO so it will get very little coverage. That's what I'd do if I was announcing something I wasn't very happy about!
(Although probably over optimistic on my part.)

Day 8 of testimony and legal argument, they have now asked for written sentences submissions from both parties - someways to go yet.
Ummm why do they need submissions from the other party (Nrl). Aren't they the ones who brought all these trumped up charges cause they know their own rules so it was a clear cut case !?!?!?!.
Or is this shat so rediculously grey that the reality is that Greenturd has NFI.
