Day 8 of testimony and legal argument, they have now asked for written sentences submissions from both parties - someways to go yet.
With 8 days of presentation and legal argument, I feel buoyed that this appears to be a kosher appeals process, not the usual charade we have come to expect from Greenturd's NRL.
The appointment of Callinan gives the process a "feel" of legitimacy and I can't believe he would demean himself and his reputation and standing by chairing a sham... but the inclusion of Noel Kelly is bewildering, to say the least.
If Callinan is outvoted by Kelly and Cleary I totally expect his withdrawal from the chair.
I am about 40% confident of a favourable outcome, which is sky high considering who we are to today's NRL management.
If successful, I would want 2 things;
1) Salary cap re instated - we could forward pay a few upgrades, and shop for next year
2) an acknowledgement from the NRL that we did not CHEAT and we are clean, and that in fact this exercise has found flaws in the methodology and the NRL can actually use this process to fix for all clubs moving forward
actually want 3 things, but Greenturd will never say sorry, and the News reporters going out there and doing the same.
At the end of the day you can never put the genie back in the bottle
Be interesting to see how Greenturd retains his position after being so high and mighty on the NRL's position?
Can't we just call on the video ref to adjudicate? The longer it drags out, the more it shows Manly must have a decent case, or it would have been punted early with tail between the legs.
Also shows this TPA stuff is not understood properly by many clubs, not just Manly and has so many grey area's that it comes down in many ways to interpretation.
The hard part for the NRL or the case in general if Manly were to win it - look how it effected the club....many players could not sign, it's caused a huge ripple effect on the players that is hard to place a value on and the media has called out Manly as cheats.....and so much more....how would the NRL handle the red faces of that outcome??
Would it then swing around and be a big compensation for Manly financially??
Personally would be happy enough if Manly could be back on a level playing field for 2019 and beyond.

And exactly then this definition of club officials being or supposedly being at arms length of any arrangement of T P A 's and which then can be interpreted in such a grey and ambiguous way . Does it exclude any role for a club official to at least make initial inquiries or overtures to potential sponsors or to even make recommendations . Sure the final agreement and arrangement has and is expected to be finalized and organized between the respective player , his manager and sponsor but again does that necessarily have to exclude the club or club officials from attempting or to initiate some initial approaches or contact . I am sure that this has regularly occurred in all or most clubs and with even more flexibility, with clubs such as the Broncos [ i. e Thoughbreds ] , Storm , Roosters and others no doubt . Also of course even if there has been or interpreted to have been a minor indiscretion by some Manly official , this would be totally and way out of proportion to the unfavorable and adverse publicity and brand trashing that the Manly club has had to endure and experience until a proper resolution will be finally reached .The longer it drags out, the more it shows Manly must have a decent case, or it would have been punted early with tail between the legs.

Could be wrong but I don't think there was any admission of guilt, simply the Chooks said they wouldn't appeal his suspension. He can jump aboard any positive finding in Manly's (expensive) appeal, meanwhile it wouldn't be a surprise if the Chooks made it worth his while to simply keep a low profile for the time being. What is also sort of interesting in it all is, why did joke kelly just rollover and admit guilt. I am very suspicious about that little scenario
I actually find it extraordinary that Manly’s alleged breaches have resulted in multiple year punishments. Don’t get me wrong, if we are found to have breached the cap by the appeals committee I will cop that on the chin, but the punishment has to be proportionate and consistent with previous sanctions.
Close. Because the NRL is consistently being a con.Because the NRL is a beacon of consistency....
