Salary Cap Position

I respect that you have an in at the club snake, but this news does not fill me with real optimism... If we have signed a guy who was getting $700k at Penrith to me that means that they will not be letting him go to another club to pay part of his contract, which means that any club will be paying his full contract and that means if according to your info and we have to release a player to accommodate him(any guy lost would logically be Green at $300k) the max that we are under the cap is about $400k.We may release and sign other players in time but if we are placing our hopes of improvement in a guy with a rep. who has not performed at international level or state of origin level or even consistently at club level(panthers are playing better without him).We are possibly going to pay big bucks to a guy who is no lock to improve this side. This is no Kennedy,Kite,Lyon type of signing(or even Orford),many will disagree but the money could be spread around better, and if anyone questions where I would spend it,I have made suggestions previously.....as I said, not bagging the messenger buddy, just the news.
To be fair he has won his one Origin match in the halves.

We need a decent kicker. Whilst Matt Wright was a pass, he was no Matthew Ridge or Killer.
We need a kicker that is around 80% successful.

Matt Wright was no speedster and as a wwinger he is S-l-o-w.

Moylan is a kicker, isn't he? What's his stats?

Don't think he has kicked goals in the last 2 years?

Yep,the dead rubber in '16,sign the whole squad who lost the series to massive contracts(I think a lot of them including Moylan were dropped this year).I am not saying he can't play,he obviously can...but I don't think he will be our saviour and at $700k(don't know what he would be paid but that is his value at Penrith) that is a lot of cash to have in the halves. To me he is unproven at 6 to throw a lot of cash at.I hope I am wrong and he forms a great combo with DCE, but I am unsure if they will or they will just be like Walker/DCE from 2016.

There are a couple of posters on here that I have PM'ed over the season with information, that will validate my integrity.

Obviously anything is possible until he signs on the dotted line but turns out this was not just some media speculation, he is really a scribble away from being here.
I hope you're right, but the Penrith based little birdie that told me last week that Edwards was definitely playing tells me quite a different story to that.

Remember though if the Riff wanna upgrade Cleary Edwards and May then it's possible that they will do it with money saved from Moylan. To do that they may have to cop some of Moylan's contract

Initially I wasn't over excited by this because of the way DCE and Moyza play similar games...
Talking to a mate, the difference between Walker and Moyza

OOOhhhhh Battle of the Insider information....
No battle at all. The Penrith info is from a lower level member of the coaching support staff so they may not be as well informed as others.

I like the post around bolstering the spine and building around that. I just wonder if Moylan is the answer at 6. He still comes across to me as a pure Fb who's playing out of position at 6. Just my opinion. I do recall a lot of comparison to Lockyer early on and if he gets near that level then he would be a lock at 6. Time will tell

I do have concerns these days journos who blabber info from Rl forums.
He word for word has said what snake stated bar the signed.
Not being precious but maybe dan should look at members only view on signings info.

If Manly was to sign Moylan I wonder what message that sends to our aspiring first grade 5/8, Tom Wright?
It means the club doesn't think Wright will be good enough to make top grade, and he'd leave the club.
Thoughts?

Wright isn't good enough, hence the shopping list.@

I've only seen him play about a dozen games and in each I had to look for him.
Not a standout player yet :shake:

Still a work in progress

Agree i cant see them signing both Edwards and May on long term contracts if they keep Moylan.
I reckon this rumour has legs and plenty of them.

With the dogs now finished for the year....still no mass clearing of the roster to accomodate Foran and Woods. So if we were in the hunt for Klemmer , wouldn't there be some whispers already ? De$ still there and no word on their season review...
Any signing of players from teams out of the semis would have created paper talk by now.....apart from the supposed Moylan rumour there's nothing else ?
