Salary Cap Position

Moylan has a far better vision as a ball player than Walker - who is more run first, pass later....both Super runners.
His combination with DCE will scare the s**t out of ANY defensive line and with more to come up front to provide go forward and quality ball, plus the threat of Turbo in and out of their pockets - good luck shutting them down....

With the dogs now finished for the year....still no mass clearing of the roster to accomodate Foran and Woods. So if we were in the hunt for Klemmer , wouldn't there be some whispers already ? De$ still there and no word on their season review...
Any signing of players from teams out of the semis would have created paper talk by now.....apart from the supposed Moylan rumour there's nothing else ?
Yeah man I think Dogs are done clearing. They are now considering keeping Lichaa so Id say they are under the cap now with Graham gone. As for us getting Klemmer and Jackson i think we all knew it was not happening and that the dogs wouldnt let them go ever. Klemmer and Jackson wont ever leave dogs. Im happy with our squad if we pick up Moylan, just need some depth in forwards and backs and we need a solid prop to partner Kapow.

Moylan to FB and TT to Centre for two years, I could live with that as it solves a few issues but I wouldn't be too happy about it.
I would much rather see Manly bring in a very good prop and 2nd row forward then sign Moylan
Hopefully one of either Parker or Kelly can kick on next year as we need it.
At this stage as our squad currently stands, I'm not very optimistic about our chances next year so hoping we can get a few decent players

After our season reviews, a number of sports columnists / analysts are advising there is no reason we can't be top 4 in 2018 if all goes well!! Our squad will learn from this year & with the return of a couple of players in Tafua & Parker plus HOPEFULLY Moylan there really is no reason we can't! Sipley & Tanginoa will be added to our forward roster also. We were there this year until injury & inexperience brought us back to earth so yeah I have faith! Also hope we can bring back Donny Singe as trainer / conditioner. Under his guide we were pretty fit!!!

We didn't sign Taupau until the end of October. How long before that were rumours of him coming to us circulating?

The Bulldogs haven't even officially sacked Des yet. I doubt their squad for next year is even close to finalised.

That still leaves us without a goal kicker.
There is one simple, logical recruitment that solves our backline problems....
Recruit the local kid Gutherson as five-eighth and give him the kicking duties. He deserves to come home.
That would mean minimal disruption to our backline. Suggesting we move our top attacking weapon, Tom Turbo, to a new position is major surgery.

As an update been hearing the rumblings that the end is near for Des (next 2 weeks - the meeting keeps being put off as they are finalising contracts and support coaches for next year, I had heard that with that uncertainty Klemmer did seek an early release from Dogs Monday of last week which was denied by that club so now we all have to wait.....

We then have to wait for the news on Will Hoppa but my mail is that if Jamil doesn't get his clearance, the whole family is off to Super League.

The Dogs are almost certainly going to have to lose at least one more of their big names to make room for Woods and Foran. Their cap was already a shambles. Hopefully it's Klemmer and hopefully we are the beneficiaries.

I wouldn't blame the Hopoate family for leaving the NRL, seems like a good option - particularly for Jamil.

Ha$$lers current contract doesn't expire until 31 October. The current contract provides for a very substantial payout, whereas the contract from 1 November provides for a quite modest payout comparatively. They will not terminate his contract prior to 1 November.

The same analysts that had us bottom 4 this year?
Why is it they are burnt at the stake alive when they say something negetive, but anything remotely positive it is taken as gospel.
I was happy with the conditioner this year, we really saw a reduction in injuries, wether that is luck or not who knows but I wouldn't be so quick to get rid of him

Gutho solves Centre but he doesn't kick much better then Wright.
Plus he would command pretty decent coin now.
We should NEVER of let him walk after he re-signed. Massive **** up from the club, don't care how the faithful church of Bozo disciples put a spin on it

Unless we wanted to punt one of our legendary backs at the time for an up and comer like Gutho, we did what we had to. There was no room for him then, and although there would room for him now it would have been the wrong decision at the time. Gutho is good although we can't fortune tell (without ouija boards lol) about whether or not someone will live out their potential. He wouldn't be absolutely vital to this side we have right now, he'd just be an accessory in my opinion, a good one at that

I disagree so strongly with that statement.
Lyon/Matai/snake situation didn't change in the 3/4/5 months or so from when he resigned and when he was cut loose.
I heard excuses like he would never run again, lies. Was paras best preseason trainer.
Left because he was promised FB, seems like lies because he played on the wing.
Those three were always going to be injuries/suspensions. He definetly would of seen atleast 10 games that season. Remember we had to buy replacements such as Wright/moltzen/ Lavaka and I'm pretty sure some other parra winger that never saw any game time.

Williame 18 games
M Wright 14 games
Parker 4 games

I just think at the time, although disappointing, it was the right call. He needed an opportunity and decided that he wouldn't want to wait to play for manly

None of the players you mention were on anything like the money Gutho was offered. We would have been wrong to stand in his way.
