Salary Cap Position

Honest question: Is Moylan really who we need at #6?

He single-handedly won the game against the Raiders in Bathurst this year. Apart from that I haven't seen any highlights of him at 6 suggesting he is an obvious improvement over Green right now.

Cleary on the other hand...

I'm thinking of a potential squad of something like the below, with depth (and included how to make it work underneath)

01. Tom Trbojevic (Tevita Vuna)
02. Jorge Taufua (Matthew Wright)
03. Brian Kelly (Brad Parker)
04. Dylan Walker
05. Akuila Uate (Jonathan Wright)
06. Matt Moylan (Tom Wright)
07. Daly Cherry-Evans (Luke Metcalfe)
08. Addin Fonua-Blake
09. Apisai Koroisou (Manese Fainu)
10. Marty Taupau
11. Frank Winterstein (Shaun Lane)
12. Curtis Sironen (Billy Bainbridge)
13. Jake Trbojevic (Jamil Hopoate)

14. Lewis Brown (Cameron Cullen)
15. Darcy Lussick (Taniela Paseka)
16. Lloyd Perrett (Kelepi Tanganoa)
17. Toafofoa Sipley

Leaving the Club: Brenton Lawrence (Titans), Nate Myles (Storm), Brett Stewart (Retired), Steve Matai (Retired), Peta Godinet (unsigned), Jarrad Kennedy (unsigned), Blake Green (New Zealand Warriors), Johnny Walker (unsigned), Jackson Hastings (released)

Has hastings release been confirmed?

I was thinking/hoping that it would go:

- green to warriors
- Moylan replace green
- brown to anyone
- hastings replace brown as utility

Wouldn't the 'Riff have to pay a portion of Moylan's contract? They seem keen to cut him loose.
Currently Moylan would be a gamble. He is a great player, when fit in body and mind, but he obviously has problems in both these areas.
I can't believe we would pay too much for him nor sign him for any longer than two years. He has to prove himself again, imo.
We also need a running second-rower. Frankly, I'd be throwing 'overs' at Angus Crichton. He'd fit into the Manly style of play.

I'd much rather keep hastings over cullen

0 idea. My team was a complete guess. I know absolutely nothing these days

But but but...what if this gets into the media and scares Matt into not signing.... like Killer and the titans when the titans ceo announced it on their forum?

can we burn snake? (maybe a bit harsh)
I am being very careful in my wording 🙂

IF we sort the cap situation out, he will play for Manly next year. If Green decides to stay put, then our hands are tied. If the Warriors decide they no longer want Green, our hands may be tied.

There are a number of variables but he is definitely in talks with the club and we could see him in Maroon and White next year if it falls our way.

If you're lying...

Geez, had to double-take wasn't sure if that was a snake or a massive...... anyway

Moylen fell out with Hook as he wasn't allowed to be at 6.

If he comes we have a goal kicker, a sub for every position from 1 to 7 and an extremely cool head that can create winning plays at the death.

His style could be adjusted in the off season to sync with Chez.
I would back those two to work it out

The current hype around Cleary, was around Moylan in 2015. Then he got injured and then the Hook issues happened.

Baz knows hIm from his Riff NYC coaching days

.
Moylan isn't really a gamble. He's only unhappy because he received a massive spray from his coach. He is pretty safe here at manly. Worst TB would do is have a bonding session..

So @Snake essentially if Green does go to the Warriors we would only be releasing him on the condition that we have a replacement ready to go, likely in the form of Moylan?

seems that way...if Moylan commits, we simply negotiate with the Warriors to ship Green across the Tasman. Given that Green is under contract, we have to consent to his release before he can leave...although Baz doesn't strike me as the kind of coach who would stand in a players way if a really good opportunity popped up, i.e. a 3 year deal elsewhere.
Penrith have some leverage with Moylan because he is the kind of player another club would desperately want, so they don't have to dangle too big a carrot to make it happen...I doubt Penrith will need to pay much (if any) of Moylan's salary next year.

Geez we pull off a signing of one or two of either Moylan, Will Hoppa or Klemmer we'd be an incredibly dangerous side and would be a huge threat you'd like to think. If we don't get a good forward I still don't know about AFB starting at prop though, maybe a little while away although he has been amazing this year. Perhaps we continue with Luss

Okay fair enough lets hope suppose.
I do get a bit nervous our cap postion if he comes. Particularly with this boom group sg ball kids ben turbo, schuster and hopoate
Agree, but one thing to keep in mind is that by the time the boom SG Ball kids are demanding big $$$ in FG, DCE will be 33-34 years old and the cap position could change dramatically.

But take your point.
