Speaking of Toovey . He had no support from the club , and unlike Trent he had negative media headlines about his job constantly , he had our owner putting pressure on him in the media and was finally shown the door and at all times he showed his toughness and composure to not break down .I'm not a fan of Barret, but to me this indicates the club's failing as his employer and not a sign that Barret does not have the strength to be a coach. Everyone, no matter how tough you, are has a breaking point and it looks like Barrett has reached his. I also think there are two approaches to NRL coaching, one is to give it everything you have and the other show up and do enough to get you a paycheck. Despite his apparent shortcomings I think Barrett is the former. The real question is why is the club allowing someone who appears to be suffering from significant work related stress to continue, especially when it is most likely impacting on his and the team's performance and could/should they have provided him adequate support in the first place before it got this far.
I thought I would have moved on from Tooves sacking by now, but I am constantly reminded of how unfair and politically motivated it was. Barrett now appears free of any interaction from management, positive or negative and I am becoming more and more convinced about where the real problems at Manly are coming from.
Toovey was tougher on and off the field than Trent and it also showed in their coaching career .
You need strong characters to build a strong culture
I have lost confidence in our coaching staff . I don't believe we can build a resilient and winning culture from them .
Here comes another Honesty Session ; I must confess that our coaching staff have brought me to tears .
Yes @niccipops It is ok for grown man like me to openly cry in a forum
