I’ve never seen a first grade goal kicker percentage go backwards so early in a career.

A few reasons I can think of...

Our whole team has poor line speed this year.
Our wingers haven't really got the ball in great position a lot this year. Especially on Garrick's edge the ball dies with Siro.

So all that is left for a winger to do... is doing hit-ups early in the set... which is a tough and thankless task especially when we have no field position or line speed.

I'm not really sure he was any better at doing hit-ups last year... just that he has had to do a lot more of it this year, when as an entire team we are playing considerably worse.

Kicking, not sure why that has been poor... confidence is down?

Also he was not a fullback last year and he isn't this year either.

If none of the above are the reason... maybe he is just having second-year syndrome.

Saab doesn't seem to possess an IQ, however, his physical attributes alone make him a better option than Garrick! Anything for Garrick to go and i'd be happy. With good coaching and working around players such as Trbo and hopefully Alex Johnston, Saab should be able to grow into first grade. All I haven't seen is how he defends, although with his potential to be fast he would work in our structures so long as the team learn to shift in defence like we used to.

I like Garrick as a person, he seems to have good intentions and shows some passion, but he also is just severly lacking power, defencive ability and overall urgency. He is only useful on the back of tommy trbo runs and long cut out passes. That is not good enough though

72% this year compared to 76% last year isn't too bad, especially when golden boy Ponga is kicking at 65%

I've yet to see what all the fuss is about over Saab, he has all the attributes for a modern day winger but doesn't seem to do much with them, maybe it's just me.

Just one of those things - I remember kite had a **** year & I was screaming for him to be punted. next season he killed it. A few months of poor form isn't the end of a player.
