Realistic Premiership window opens 2022

Thanks for the support and the thumbs up guys. Would also like to add, when we were slicing and dicing the opposition on our way to the Prelim against Sths, nothing was mentioned about Foz's perceived inadequacies within the team, in fact it was just the opposite. With Foz and Chez vying with each other for runners up points next to Tom. Sure, I get that Schuster is our future and what he'll bring for us in attack is going to be immense. Foz had a brilliant season also, and on most occasions was the one calling the shots and setting up our killer plays. By all means point out the age differences, but to come on here and denigrate Foz's season is quite frankly beyond the pale.
Kieran had a great year , played almost every game. I saw him play in the prelim final , no way he was the reason we lost.

It was a credit to Kieren for playing almost every game with his battered body

It was also evident that it was not the same young Kieran before he left Manly

Reviews from the Finals game

Manly v Storm
6. KIERAN FORAN 4 /10
Foran was strong in defence under pressure but otherwise struggled to make any real impact in attack. He finished with just three metres, offering little to help Daly Cherry-Evans who did the bulk of the kicking. There was no questioning Foran’s toughness though, taking the ball right up to the line and copping a shot as a Manly left-edge raid ended with Garrick being carted into touch.

Manly v Souths

6. KIERAN FORAN 6/10

Solid if not spectacular first half with limited field position, but had 22 run metres and nine tackles without a miss. However he needed to take more pressure off his captain and halfback who was overplaying his hand. Finished with 28 run metres, one linebreak assist and 13 tackles.

Damn right he did and again, the forwards did not match the opposition and lay any real platform for the halves or outside backs....Foran was great at 5/8 and must confess, played 2-3 times the amount of games I expected.

You will find most Manly players (except Tom) polled really bad numbers, he wasn't Robinson Caruso in that regard..

With so many playmakers in the team, thought Foran got it right with how many touches he needed to have with the ball in hand, sometimes you can overplay your hand too.
He’s there more so that the opposition doesn’t know who to target , but he needs to handle the ball a little more each game.

he needs more ball and to take control of the team.
Yes and I think we'll see more of that next season.
While Foran didn't exactly return to Manly with his tail between his legs, equally he didn't return as a conquering hero. I think he deliberately 'played himself in' to some extent this year, out of respect for everyone in the place.
But his competitive nature is second to none and providing he stays fit again I can imagine he won't be shy to take over a bit more on-field directing. Which will only help our cause.

Would of been good if you'd put up the rest of the other player ratings as well Bozo. Just, so we get an honest appraisal of the team as a whole.
Every man is accountable for their own performance feathered friend

Greetings folks, just assuming that we won’t find or afford a gun centre from elsewhere my search returns to our promising lower grades despite their limited playing opportunities during COVID.

blacktown only - George in the centre’s , and nobody else I can see.

SG ball - this side was robbed of a GF appearance , talent lives inside this group, so;

1.Kaeo Weekes. YES give him some game time , at least in the pre season

2 Uluaki Tuipulotu. MAYBE haven’t seen the potential yet

3 Tolu Koula. Classy centre YES

4 Simon Tito underrated centre , does every thing right on park MAYBE

6 Krystian Mapapalangi. wAs a yes but Gone to Newcastle , sad , very sad.

Josh F captain of the matthews unbeaten side , too early but he is special centre prospect , natural leader of young men , smart.

now my concern is Des , he doesnt seem very proactive in the game time for younger potential , from bench players that dont get used to his sometimes admirable loyalty to the honest grafter types. Ok it’s not easy.
Question ? Would our actual 2021 2nd rowers get the game time they did, if Siro , Davey and what’s his name , not been injured?

So do we have in Weeks or Koula , Tito, or Tipi the next eg Nicho Hynes in waiting break out player , cause you can’t have a breakout opportunity unless somebody(s) hurt at Manly , and it will annoy me watching any of the above scoring tries for the those teams that seem to find a way to give young talent a go.
I have heard on interviews with players Des has certain boxes they have to tick weight , fitness and goals to achieve ,it's not you have to wait until someone gets injured before you get a chance,Shu and Oka re signed and why would they if they didn't know they would get a shot at NRL.Des seems to be a good player manager, pretty sure he talks to the up and coming players about what they have to do to get a shot

The reason I did not single out other players was because the topic was about Foran
So you are basing your whole argument on Forans game in the Sths Prelim game, not a mention about the countless errors we made and the 60-40 possession against us...very difficult to shine under these circumstances Bozo..

Thanks Matro , that does sound Des like and he does appear to really care about his players .. fair point

Just on Shu vs Foran , it’s good we have two great 5/8s available and signed , I’m not sure we have two or three great centres ..

We all have different expectations feathered friend

I expect all our players to live up to our legendary clubs high standards as the greatest club of all

I also agree with fox sports assessment n Forans performance in our finals matches

The Brilliant young Schuster is my man at 5/8

Actually the 6/10 in the second assessment is pretty high Bozo, if you consider how Sths dominated us.
