PRE-GAME DISCUSSION: Knights v Manly [Round 12, 2021]

Does anyone else get a bad feeling about this game coming? Knights got blasted by the coach in the post match conference last week (didn't he basically call the team soft and losers?). Wouldn't be surprised to see a bit of bite in this one.

Also, if Burbo is debuting who is dropping out? I assume Siro might not be ready or is Suli getting the flick?

I always feel a bit nervous about every game and try not to think of reasons the opposition would win as there's always something (lol).

Players back
team on a roll
team got a rocket up 'em by the coach
coach sacked to watch for team bounce back
team 'doing it for someone'
new star wars movie comes out.....

so fingers crossed and if Manly play like "they know they can play" then they should account for the Knights team.

I think one of the things the new rules have changed is the number of upsets. I don't want to put the mock on us but it seems that with less wrestle and a more open game, the teams with the better players seem to keep winning. In the past, if you could wrestle, you could nullify the talent of the opposition, and jag the odd win. But these days, it is very hard to keep the games elite players out of the contest. If you look at the ladder, the best squads are at the top and the worst are at the bottom; that might seem obvious but it's a clear gap nowadays. We used to see a couple of teams with average squads, punching above their weight. I'm not seeing that anymore.

Pretty sure I've just seen a trailer for "Return of the Return of the Return of the Return of the Jedi". Just sayin'.

The game could be anything. We could win by 50, or get pipped in a frustrating mistakeathon.

I expect the desperate knights will really try to put us to the sword early tomorrow. If we can weather the early crusade then we should be able to repell the infidels and steele for a win. BUT I think we will be on a downer after last weeks big win. Knights by 10.
