PRE-GAME DISCUSSION: Knights v Manly [Round 12, 2021]

Ponga out may actually help them. When he is there they tend to stand back and wait for a brilliant Ponga move. Without him their mindset will probably be hard tough grind right from the get-go. They've been humiliated in front of their home crowd and will give it everything.
They don't have much though so Manly by 20.

The Knights spine is crippled
Their spirits are down and confidence is shot
They are a team out of form

On game day all those factors mean nothing
Game day is a new day of possibilities
Unless we turn up the Knights can turn things around

You’re older than I thought.

Saying Ponga out helps them is like saying we'd go better without Turbo.

I perceive this as you do feathered friend

Ponga is a lethal bullet to the heart of the opposition

He is a game breaker from anywhere on the field
and he can do it all on his own .

The moral of the story
Any team is stronger with a Kalyn Ponga

Paul Green didn’t agree a few years back when he moved from the Cowboys to the Knights.

Ponga out doesn’t leave them much in the creativity department.

This is what happened when Pual Green Moved Ponga to the Knights

Ponga was eligible to represent Australia and New Zealand in test football, but confirmed his allegiance to Queensland, and therefore Australia, in January 2018.[32] In round 1 of the 2018 season,
he made his debut for the Knights in their 19-18 golden point extra-time win over the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles, scoring a try and kicking three goals

In June, Ponga made his State of Origin debut for Queensland in Game II of the 2018 State of Origin series.[34] He came onto the field from the interchange bench in the 28th minute, playing out of position in the middle of the field. He played 52 minutes, made 29 tackles and made a line break late in the game, coming close to scoring an equalizing try, only to be pulled down by New South Wales fullback James Tedesco before the line in Queensland's 18-14 loss.
Former Knights and Australian test halfback Andrew Johns called it 'the best debut in Origin history

I suspect Newcastle's spirit will hold Manly for 20-30 minutes. After that I suspect Manly will dominate...at least I hope so.

Of course parochialism wouldn't have in any way influenced that comment from Johns. No way of course

Schuster was basically responsible for setting up the attacking raids and half the tries against the Eels last week, so having him out is a big loss.

Need DCE to have a big game. Croker could be at #6 but I'm not sure moving him from hooker is the best option at the moment.

Why so many leg injuries in training??

There is no need to be influenced by others on how great ponga is

Any one that has eyes has seen Ponga single handidly destroy teams

As I remember it (my wife being a Cowboys supporter), Green and the Cowboys didn't want Ponga to go. They knew exactly the type of player they had and made him a good offer but his father/agent shopped him around for more money, hence ending up at Newcastle.

Schusters no look pass is blinding
The opposition has no idea what is happening

Best Six in the game
