As long as all our lot are not missing in action on game day we are in there with a Big chance !

Not convinced the Roosters are going to be there when the whips are cracking this year.As shown at the end of last season,they’re an ageing side and this year they’ll have a very young or inexperienced no 7 and Keary is only one more knock to the head from joining Cordner in Disneyland.They’ll start the season well enough but a long year could take its toll
watching the roosters last year was like watching us in 2014.

The teams that get the most repeat sets will win its that simple. What the people at the NRL forget is that Aussies love a good contest, a struggle, a real nail biter where the best and most deserving team wins. Not the team gifted the most repeat sets which inevitably results in the scores blowing out and a lop sided no contest. and not the team that benefits from a refereeing howler that determines the outcome of the game. The NRL have a responsibility to ensure that significant rules changes are based on legitimate and reliable research and data not just the whim and the light bulb moments of those in charge. IMO the fabric of our game is being unraveled by a handful of people who are making unresearched decisions. It appears their data comes from the teams CEO's who I expect are careful about what they say to their financial benefactor. I would have thought the best data would come from asking the players and the fans who keep the game alive. If people stop watching the game will perish. the NRL have lost the plot. Sorry for the rant. We will get caned by repeat sets and as a result gassed and it will be a blow out.

Historicly this is pretty accurate. A few extra six agains to the opposition and kicks offs from tries scored helps rack up that posession
What we can change and be better at is when we get up there end we play a possession game, kick dilligently, respect the ball and not throw speculators trying to score off every 6 , die with possession instead of looking for repeat sets and act like we are in first grade
Maybe then possesion might be %70 - %30 a d we might still be in the contest at 12 nil
It tends to even up somewhat , good teams try to stay close enough for the swing. We seem to put the house on red and seem too content at blowing the rent money on payday
Thats why we need foran so badly and have taken the gamble. He knows the house and plays sober. Previously our last tackle option played like a drunken whale
Yes last tackle options in 2020 were “ holy **** what do we do now , oh **** someone better kick it , oh **** who can kick , not me , not me , not me , toooooooo late “
Some of our better kicks were by forwards stuck with the ball on last. If we dont plan to play like this we never will. Why do first grade footballers with years of experience need this coached into them

Last year I was excited whenever we made it to the last tackle. We turned over the pill so often it was almost like we wanted to spend the whole game tackling (or not tackling, which was more often the case).
I’m no coach , I’m just a fan , but you watch the top 3-4 sides and they have options , and usually a number of them .
Occasionally it doesn’t work and they are trapped with the ball but you have to say 9/10 or at least 8/10 they have effective options.
Our 2020 options were “ where’s DCE??, oh **** we can’t get it to him so let AFB kick “ .
Our quality last tackle options were probably 1 or 2 out of 10, the rest absolute ****!
Hopefully Foran , a fit Walker and Schuster somewhere and less pressure on our half back will fix that.
It might even mean our reliance on our star fullback ( or lack of one ) is far far less.
While this is true almost anyone who has played footy there whole life can kick a footy to a point., especially backs. If our kicker positions himself behind every other player , he has no options if they catch him but to hoik it , or throw the ball forward.
This happens to every other team, so we should not be any different . Fullbacks are so good they know where the kick will land based on where the kicker is 9 times out of 10. A moving kicker negates the fullbacks anticipation, gains extra yards and makes the kicker , the only player who knows where the ball is going a potential chaser, but brings the chasers with him , being onside. Some of the games most inspirational turning points are when a kickers chase his own kick and traps a player in goal.
Our players being offside from most kicks is why tom when fit seems to be the only chaser. Surely you see this . Most of our team has to stay outside the exclusion zone making kick pressure and the line almost non existent. The one or 2 players on side are easily escorted off the ball making the majority of our kicks largely ineffectual
Once the ball is in your hands its up to you to position yourself, put yourself in harms way to get the job done, that is if you want that job, yesterday i read he wants it for another 10 years. Why wouldnt you
DCE is a divisive figure amongst manly fans. Every one has a view and a manly ideology but he would not cop this much flak it there wasnt some truth in it. I get your a fan and thats cool but i always give examples for my opinion. I dont see myself as an expert or my opinion is any better or worse than any one elses. I dont call people names for there opinion or belittle others for having them , but i am dogged and proud of it. If you cant call it the way you see it , dont call it. Its footy , not crochet . He comes up so often as he is so pivotal to our game. Alk half backs are. The chooks just sacked flannigan for having an ok season.
The forum is where you get to talk footy with other manly people, not to try and prove how fanly you are . You do that in other ways.
But i suspect our kicking game will be better this year not because of options necessarily but because chez will be doing less of it

This forum will at least be better when he retires , its hard when some see him and his contract as our biggest obstacle and others see him as the messiah and want to know if he has a brother we can sign

SMH reporting Walker @ FB...Foran 5/8...Crocker, the hooker.
That's why Schuster needs to be out there at #6. Multiple options with Foz at #9 and we have 3 great kick options. If you can keep the opposition guessing then you have the advantage.
