So turbo plays 2 games then rests for 3 or so weeks then jumps straight into the origin side. That’ll help his injury no doubt.

Can only imagine what confidence it would bring to Funa, Hoppa and Harper. It might only be two games, but the young blokes will go up a gear with Tommy at their backs.By playing him, what it also does, apart from helping him get ready for Origin,is that it sells hope to fans for success next year if he combines well with the new players in the team.Fans can get a glimpse of what they can expect next year,on the proviso he doesn’t get injured again of course, and maybe encouraged to get membership etc
Agreed fit and given the all clear from medical staff he plays on Saturday.Silly thread.
You don’t rest a fully fit player cause he might get injured.
The assumption is that he’s not healed and more prone to injuries.....BUT ..... He’s been medically advised he’s good to go. He plays.
Maybe we should just rest the entire squad for the last 2 games cause they all might get injured for 6 months also and ruin 2021. The sky is falling...
The thing is though, if he is back and returns this week, there is no ‘injury’. He has to come back at some point and if he can come back in two matches where the result means nothing so minutes can be managed if necessary, it’s probably not a bad way to do it.So turbo plays 2 games then rests for 3 or so weeks then jumps straight into the origin side. That’ll help his injury no doubt.
just throw this in there then........Because if he goes down during Origin and out for 6 months or longer then we'll revisit this discussion.
US sports are far more professional with how they deal with issues like this.
NRL clubs showing zero brains, as per usual.
There probably are other benefits, but this would mainly be about origin. The only benefit for Manly is to win the next two games and finish 9th which leaves a better taste in the mouth for the team to build on next year, and possibly for potential recruits. Better than losing the next two and finish 12th or 13th. I just hope it doesn’t backfire.Interesting perspective on the state of mind aspect. Perhaps the club see it as two fairly easy matches with little to play for. A good test of the hammy I guess.
The cynic in me says it's more to do with Origin though.
