We keep going like this well more than sneak in I think, we’ll be a good show come finals. It’s prob known from my posts I’m not the biggest fan of Walker. He will need to earn his spot back in for mine. He will get a shot tho as I’m sure we get injuries.
Re Walker and the centre position

We need something more at right centre .

Harper has stepped up and is making contributions to the team in defence and attack

Parker apart from his satisfactory defence is a one dimensional player and all you get is one dimensional running and he hardly contributes with line breaks and try assists

In close games a team has an advantage if it has players that can be dominant in attack and defence because if your key attacking players gets locked up defensively or has an off game or gets injured the team still has strike power options if it has players around him that can attack as well as defend

The moral of the story
The more gun backs you have , The more shots you can fire at the opposition
And SPEED KILLS !

Foz had plenty of opportunity today and came up with a few clangers. I'd consider giving him a rest.
Wasn't Fozz's best game but he's probably still our best attacking play maker. Shoey may move into that role. If he can get some time on the field Cust can handle the short passes to charging forwards close to the opposition line.

It’s an ongoing discussion Bozo. Different points of view. Like me with Walker, I’m sure Bozo you hope Parker proves you wrong re form etc. Walker will get his shot and I hope he does well. Time will tell. I just don’t think Dylan Walker is the player he was years ago. He is also injury prone which impacts our combos etc. Defensively I think Crichton would cut him to pieces today. But again that’s just my opinion. Trust me I’ve been scathing of Parker in the past, but right now he is adding a lot on that side. Let’s see what the season brings. Plus Suli will be a discussion point before Walker will be asWalkers a while away yet.

Just left Bathurst what a game very proud of how far the boys have come. Some timely mistakes cost us and to win against the best team in nrl we can't afford to make any mistakes at all. Hopefully they keep their heads up after this game they really gave it to them.
Congratulations for making the effort to go and support and Inspire our team today feathered friend . You are a Manly Champion !

In close games the best team with the best players in the end usually do enough to get away with the win Just like our Great Manly teams of the past who had quality players across the park did .

Our players gave it their all
but it was not enough to make the more dominant Penrith team fall

In the end the most dominant team that has the most dominant players most of the time get the job done .

A couple of times this afternoon I wished that Parker had just a half a yard more pace. I think he would have slipped through the Panthers' line a couple of times with just a little more speed. I really like Brad's involvement and effort but without speed he will always be an also ran.

How many line breaks and Try assist have you seen from Parker to validate your point of view ?

That’s my issue with Parker. He’d be in the top 5 defensive centres in the comp, but he hardly strikes fear in the opposition with ball in hand. It’s interesting decision coming up for Des,although as is the case most of the time, that decision won’t have to be made because someone will inevitably get injured.Do you pick a strong defender or someone that’s a threat in attack?

How can they say he stripped the ball from Turbo when he has never let go of it and was acknowledged as the first player to take possession???
Agree - you thought the same as me. Can't understand how it was deemed a strip when at no stage did Turbo lose the ball?!

From that we lost possession at a crucial part of the game, and probably the clincher for them.

I like Parker as well because as he is trying hard but the fact is when a back tries hard and does not score or set up tries he becomes a liability in the team
Parker does not only lack speed he also lacks agility and is an easy target to stop .

As a team we need to keep evolving and improving to get to the top of the tree
and if players stop improving they soon get replaced

I’m curious as to whether Dylan is still such a threat in attack. In the past he has been great and the first Centre picked in my sides. It’s not 2019 tho. He will get a shot and I hope he does well for the side. Tge Parker v Walker prob needs its own thread! Maybe I’ll create it asi never create threads.haha
