Out of Adversity comes Opportunity to Rise like Sea eagles again !!!

Wayne Bennett is still learning Bozo
Collins definition of rookie ...
A rookie is someone who has just started doing a job and does not have much experience.
I was wrong in saying that Trent is a rookie .
Trent has not just started coaching , he has only 2 and a third years experience and is still green . That's what I meant . Trent has little experience and experience comes with years and years of coaching
In regards to the old fellow Bennett , we are never too old to learn something new .

I ask if all Silvertails could do one thing and that is to watch a movie that will inspire all of us to never give up.

It’s a classic tale of adversity, and sticking it to the man when you are at rock bottom.

After you have watched Major League you’ll all start thinking we can win this.

I don’t think we will get the spoon, but we will be closer to that action than the pointy end of things.
I too thought 2016 was the low point and saw huge improvement in 2017. I was very excited by what I thought would be further progression, but we have slipped badly.
Without blaming the coach, who can actually say we look like a first grade team in defence and attack. There seems to be very little cohesion, and if you compare things to last year, the loss of Green appears to be enormous. Surely that can’t be the only reason for the sharp drop in effort since the back end of last year.

Agree mate

Like your thinking

I have been an optimistic supporter of manly for over 40 years but find it hard to get any feeling of optimism for us at the moment after being very excited at the beginning of the season

The look in DCE, eyes are the same as 16

The cliches of training hard and working together are the same as 16

Trent pig headed selections are the same as 16

Our ability to just drop off when the chips are down are the same as 16

The indisputable divisions within the team are the same as 16

The phoney denials that there are no rifts in the playing group and coach are the same as 16

Our abysmal management of the club by Penns are the same

The silence of support by leaders past and present of our club are ambiguous and at best half hearted or do not exist at all just like 16

I know many do not want to hear it but past players involved in 16 basket case speak about the need of earning respect of the team and not just demanding respect of the team

While no one can deny DCE his enormous talent and the passion to give it all, I think there are serious doubts as to his ability to lead a team and create a united cultures

Polarising is a polite word that has been often used by many

He is much more suited to be a team member than a team or club leader but has been put in this position by Barrett who backed DCE who drew a line in the sand and gave him the mantle

We will finish the season in the same or worse shape as 16 and hope we can hang in there and see some of the young ones come through and te build our fabric

All our opposition supporters think it’s obvious And that’s DCE is an equal liability to us as he is a superstar

I don’t want him sacked but do want him to stop trying to prove that he is the leader and just play his time in the team

BTW

I support Jackson being given the opportunity to have a run in the top grade

Adversity strikes ...
Breaking news
Hastings back in our NRL squad
Hi Bozo
Hastings is back in the squad because they have 19 players for 21 spots.
I bet he is picked on the bench and plays 10 minutes a half.
Not good enough.

How long does TB get to be a "rookie" coach for ?
He had all the Rookie experiences in 2016, developed a better team with Green but still dull and inconsistent in 2017, and now back to Rookie experiences in 2018.
Didn't they lose six games in a row in 2016, and basically never won at Brookvale?. What was learned then?.
Spiralling to oblivion if you ask me,

Lets see what happens mate .
Adversity has already brought Hastings in the NRL squad .
Adversity changes things .

The medicine we need is hard work and learning from this adversity. I do not think in my time that I have seen a darker period outside of the dreadful Northern Eagles years. Never seen an injury crisis like this one and a club that is so lacking in confidence and more importantly leadership. I was very pleased to see the guys at Belmore supporting the Blacktown boys. We need to be together as a club if we are any chance to turn this around. Our club has a strong culture and what we need now are the values that have created and sustained that culture, the club has to come together, like they did in 2003 after the disaster of the Northern Eagles and build a team from bottom up!! This may take time and I feel there is a lot more pain to come in the short term, we need to back the current coach and team and hope that they get it right. Our club always fights against the odds in so many areas, we just cannot afford to fight ourselves as we have done over the last month. It all starts on a Monday, things can turn around but it will take dogged hard work, come on guys this is your chance to prove everyone wrong in the truest Manly Sea Eagles tradition!!

We are a better team than what the results of late are showing. During all 4 weeks of those losses, when we can hold onto the ball, we have shown that we can play.
In saying that, we need to fix up our kicking game and start playing to the percentages.

What is everyone’s thoughts on Brodie Croft? It’s a massive IF we could get him, I think he could be a perfect fit. Not in Melbourne’s 17 anymore, it was his first year out of the 20’s. Star in the 20’s, and billed as a mini Cronk. Apparently we need that style (which frustrates me to no end considering we have the highest paid half in the game)

There are also classic tales of overcoming adversity in real life stories and not just
Rocky movies ....

Lance Armstrong: Overcame testicular cancer which spread to the brain and lungs (he was told he had only a 40% chance of survival) to come back and win the Tour de France seven more times!!!!!!!!!

There are 2 types of characters that are revealed in the face of adversity .
Some lay down and die and other rise up like Sea eagles and fly high

We have the opportunity write our own story as well.
