Based on current contract values and until some players are let go, ithe top 30 Im expecting to look like this, bolded are players that may be worth letting go to bring players up and recruit depth. Walker showed he is still valuable with his pace and Siro needs to be given the same chance when fit

Harper and Parker have to be our centres. Interesting stat in yesterdays paper is that they sit 2nd and 3rd as the most one on one tackles. Their defence is killing it
Whilst I think he's doing a fantastic job (and at the risk of being unpopular), Harper's defence does leak a little. In the last 3 games alone, Harper has missed 9 tackles plus 8 ineffective tackles (avg. 75% tackle efficiency)

I think we should re-sign Lachlan Croker. Not sure when Fainu will be back so he will be a good back up. If Fainu is available then he can do a role like Api in starting and when the opposition become tired, Fainu comes on.

And then look at this filthy depth: Crocker, Siro, Cust, Suli, Davey, Saddler, Burbo, Tui, Kolau, De Luis, Sione Fainu, Tuitavake

Players we MUST release: Jetski, Boyle, Funa, Taufua (and also maybe Walker depending on how he finishes this season)
Gee I like your side. Agree with everything except Croker. In my opinon the hooker spot is his to lose on form, not reputation. If Manly keep winning and he is doing his job, he should be rewarded with retaining the job.

With regards to the bench, love it, but I think Walker could be valuable there for his speed, expecially in the modern game. While I think Walker is past being a run-on player, he would be strong off the bench. But who to drop?. Nice problem!

I like your side @Snake! Have you heard any news re. Siro? Do you think he gets picked if fit?

I think Dessie has shown his hand with Suli. That is, the spot may have been yours, but since injury, others have stepped up and you have to earn your way back into the side. I think the same will apply for Siro. In saying that, I think Foran would have been picked at 6 again, regardless of Schuster's game against the Eels...so the rule probably only applies in certain positions...but yeah, I doubt Siro would walk back in and push Schuster or Haumole to the bench. That particular scenario has not been forced on us yet, so I am just guessing. It hasn't been discussed. The week he was slated for return, we had injuries galore so that week's squad is no indication of what will happen at full strength.

Makes sense… I like that approach from Des. Guys like Harper, Lawton, Haumole and Schu have all earned their spots

Sorry re read your post and this time noticed ' doubt ' in relation to siro ; apologies .

Lawton offers that and is a specialist hooker. My asterisks already account for Fainu. If Fainus back then Lawton to back up and Croker will move on, if not back then to continue as is.

Sirro ahead of the in form Schuster and Haumole , after a long lay off and who was not really going that well before being injured this season and prior . Big call and considering he has not even been re signed yet .

Sorry Manly Al but I think there is not way Schuster and Olakau'atu would make way for Sironen. They have shown far more than Siro and I like Siro, but if he makes the team and even that's uncertain, I see him on the bench. Pointed out in another section I think Siro will find it hard to get back into first grade. The group we've got now and Keppie, Aloiai and Davey to come back. I suspect Siro may find it hard to get a new contract.

Croker to stay for me if he chooses to, otherwise we need to sign a replacement for him...and one for Fainu too if he doesn't get off. You need 3 hookers in the squad.
