Other NRL Games Round 20

Should of went to the bin, makes Jake 2019 bin a total joke
Didn't see this one but have been meaning to ask - I've seen many replays lately of the famous Test try Meninga scored because Fox is promoting their program about Sticky. Didn't Meninga shoulder a defender out of the way? Bit late for an appeal to the bunker now, but I thought you can't interfere with a defender?

Saw it again this week, it was close. Shoulder to shoulder has always been ok and still is. There was a touch of arm from Mal but nothing definitive. No wrapping of the arm or grabbing by the hand. I think the bunker would have to allow it.

Close game dragons are not that good south's are playing them like we played the tigers ..have come out thinking just turning up will give them the win

#11 for the Saints should be embarrassed by that effort after Norman did all the hard work to keep the South's player from scoring.

And by the way, the Saints were right in challenging Mitchell's involvement with the try. He is not allowed to touch/push his own player in the act of scoring.

Think it was more a comment about the inconsistencies and disparities in the quality of refereeing, knowing we were totally ripped off in the game I referenced and that it cost us the opportunity to play for a shot at another GF, then you see a blatant play like today let go, not even a penalty, I guess it still really pisses me off that we were robbed the way we were. Just one of those moments in life where one thing triggers a memory and that’s what followed.

It was nitpicking for sure, especially the sin bin but to the letter of the law it was a penalty, in a try scoring situation. Jake shouldn't have done it and didn't need to do it but once it went upstairs it was a fait accompli.

Other than a BIG Manly win tomorrow night, the best thing to come out of this round was the Tigpies losing on Friday night.

For the past couple of weeks I have been having this online ... shall we say, banter, with some Tigpies fans who claimed that they were a shoe-in to make the 8 given their easy run home. They figured on losses to Manly and Penrith, but literally thought their other 4 games (including 2 against the Dogs) were such a walk in the park that it would see them move to 8th spot.

But there is one thing they didn't figure. You can always count on the Tigpies to screw things up lol

Games being played at Suncorp at night seem to be played on a surface with a lot of dew. Might not suit our game play, will have to look after the ball tomorrow night
It was really warm here today and tonight (still is). Not much dew I suspect. The Caxton st end (left on broadcast) did look damp in the shade tho. I suspect they have been hammering it with water all through the week as I can’t remember when it rained last up here.

I'm seeking clarification on a couple of rules which used to be in the sport:
1. When a player is kicking for goal (penalty or conversion) the opposition need to remain still until the ball is kicked or else they risk a re-kick, and
2. An involuntary tackle should result in a penalty

Are either rules still part of the game because they are never enforced?

aThink the Storm also have the knack of being offside in defense
Just like Newcastle, I noticed today they were in front of the ref on a number of occasions and were let go Just like they were in round 12 against us, not surprising really given that Adam O'Brien learned his trade under Bellyache, perhaps Melbourne have a dirt file on every ref in the game which O'Brien still has access to😡
