Other Games - Round 7, 2018

Well at least Smith admitted they got away with one and Slater admitted that he actually had dropped it with no intention to kick.

Refs making up the rules as they go along. Any wonder things are turning to $hit with the NRL?

In the end, 6 points probably didn't change much on who would win the game, I think Melbourne probably still would have in the end. But it was a big balls up by the refs.

Bugger, saw that Johnson was out and changed my pick from WAR to DRA.

Should have learned my lesson from the last time he was out!!

At least you get the late mail... most of this stuff comes through way after I've gone to bed.

Had tipped St G though...lol... cough.

edit: funnily enough...after watching it in slow-mo I don't really have a prob with that slater try.

An
Gee it's getting harder and harder to watch Green play for the Warriors.

On one play he runs to the line. Looks see Ben Hunt in the line, passes the exact right pass to set up the try.

Damn.
and hes got good defenders around him.Warriors are the real deal so far.

So what we witnessed last night depicts recent rugby league history and why the games is so ****

Slater dropped the pill. Everyone including all pkayers say its a knock on
Klein invents a rule, the refs back him
Now the coaches wil play on this and rightfully so. Knocks ons will become a biggers farce as players attempt field goals 95 m out from goal when they spill the ball
In fact how do they even set the mark for a knock on if the ball is kicked, must be play on from now on
5 years on the rule is a joke, the clamp down, blow the pea out of the whistle , everyone is soewing , all to spare klein 6 weeks in reserve grade or being drug tested
Honestly he was an idoit

Huge difference

He dropped that ball without the intention of kicking it, knock on

For Sutton to come out and say they got it right shows what a sad state of affairs we are in with the whistle blowers
You may well be right but how ridiculous!
Referees are supposed to adjudicate on intention?
Hate this grey discretionary powers referees have.

Rule should state that if ball dropped forward and kicked after one bounce then play on else knock on.
You may disagree, but it removes the doubt hinging on intention.

For years I’ve been putting up with the obstruction debacle, and them having no concept of a knock on in terms of propelling it TOWARDS the opponents goal line - but that ruling last night was the biggest joke in the last 10 years. For ever and a day that’s a blatant knock on - for the refs boss to come out and condone that decision is proof he has no idea and should resign. Based on that every dropped ball from now on should be followed by a lash out with the boot so it is play on, attempted drop goal. How the hell they prove intent moving forward is what these morons haven’t considered.

To be fair, and I’m no Slater fan, but he looked as bemused as the rest of us!

And thank goodness it didn’t decide the game!

"That is a tough one. I'm not sure. I don't know the rule well enough," Bennett said.

"But that is a game changer if that is to be the standard going forward. It was never intended to be a drop-kick and the ball hit the ground. So what are we saying now – if we knock the ball on and it hits the ground and we still kick at it, it's a drop-kick?

WTF has our game become. Cat Slater falls over and dives and refs send a player off the field for 10 minutes. Bargeass smashes a half flush across the jaw, and STAYS on the field and continues playing... I just don't get it. Too many admin and officials with their head up their a$$e$ being OCD about isolated details and lose the balance of the big picture...
