Other Games - Round 7, 2018

WTF has our game become. Cat Slater falls over and dives and refs send a player off the field for 10 minutes. Bargeass smashes a half flush across the jaw, and STAYS on the field and continues playing... I just don't get it. Too many admin and officials with their head up their a$$e$ being OCD about isolated etails and lose the balance of the big picture...
Not to mention Croker being sent off for tackling Souths player a millisecond early. Disgraceful

NRL referees boss Bernard Sutton has declared the whistle-blowers were right to award Billy Slater’s controversial ‘drop-kick try’ on Friday night – but Billy Slater’s half-time interview proves they got it wrong.

Slater crossed in the 10th minute of Melbourne’s 34-20 victory over Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium for a try Wayne Bennett described as a ‘game-changer’.

The veteran Storm full-back gave himself up as soon as he grounded the ball from an attempted grubber kick that hit the ground before it struck his boot, shaking his head and telling team-mates he had knocked on.

But referee Ashley Klein, who told Broncos skipper Darius Boyd that Slater is ‘entitled to drop-kick it’, sent the decision upstairs as a try and The Bunker gave the green light.

How poor are the West Tigers.Last week they looked like premiership favourites. I guess even an average team can win with 90% possession. Unfortunately the NRL is all about who the referee likes.

We made the Tigpies look like premiers but they look rudderless in attack. Amazing what happens when they actually have to do their share of the tackling.

Amazing how small decisions falling to one team's advantage changes the whole game. And surprise, surprise, the media fairytale team getting the dubious benefit of the calls again
