Other Games [Round 1, 2022]

International rules I think.
Further to player numbering I checked my recollection of 1978 - info on the Manly GF Squad and Kangaroos 1978 team list.

Yeah, I struggle to understand it. Back in the day we did actually have to play the ball with the foot and it was pulled up if you didn't. It wasn't hard to police and players knew it would be so everybody played the ball correctly. It's just plain stupidity to let the desire for faster play erode such a basic skill.
Agree, I said a similar thing in the other (GE) 'Other Games' thread. 🙂

Souffs look worse than us
Probably not giving the Broncos the respect they deserve here. That is 100% effort. They had pride in their defense.

Rabbits lost by one try. And the try The Broncos scored was an intercept.

Bunnies looked like they were trying at least.

I tend to agree, though I think we may have given the bunnies a match.
No chance mate, our defensive line was broken, unbalanced, uncommitted and tired.

Cook and others would have eaten us alive.

Broncos marched forward in defense as a unit. They had energy, effort, made nominal mistakes.

We've been the worse team, but a good long way.

Example being Harper, who was literally a turnstile. He's focused too much on his curly long locks and porno moustache , and not enough on fitness and intensity.

The ridiculousness of this call was on full display just before halftime.
Broncs got pinged for an incorrect play the ball so handover to Souths and guess what?
The very next play the ball (to start the set they’d just been given) the Souths player did the same thing and so did the next player, l reckon there was three in that next set that could have been pulled up.
How/why do they seem to rule on some but not others? If it’s that black and white why do they miss so many?
Why does something that is best described as lazy have such a huge consequence?
It’s an absolute embarrassment. One thing I did learn is when we get Klein reffing us, we better get foot to ball. I thought the 6 again rule was the biggest discretionary ref rort going. But this one takes the cake. The one he called on Johnston, led directly to a Broncos try. As Vossy said, where is the line in the sand with it? Would we see that used in SOO, or in a grand final. No way.

After tonights games we have no worries overall,Panthers were red-hot and no side tonight was within Cooee, take out bad ref decisions against us and I am confident we are ok
South's and Broncos are bog average.
Rabbits without Reynolds and Mitchell were poor.
Going by Silvertails standards at least.
Crap game by two crap sides lol
