So when the Roosters tear us another new one next week I wonder what the excuses will be then. A full strength Roosters will be no easier than last night and I can't see a 180 deg turnaround coming from us on last night's dismal efforts.
It’s a small way the nrl are subtlety trying to slow the game down a bit because they know the mess that the 6 again rule has created. This product that’s rolled out these days is not RL. It’s a hybrid version of contact touch footy.Yeah, I struggle to understand it. Back in the day we did actually have to play the ball with the foot and it was pulled up if you didn't. It wasn't hard to police and players knew it would be so everybody played the ball correctly. It's just plain stupidity to let the desire for faster play erode such a basic skill.
We will demolish both those teams. Souths were awful and looked nothing like last year. Broncs forwards were very good I thought but their backs had no shape at all. Reno will help that. I thought the broncs murdered a number of try scoring opportunities as well. The score line didn’t reflect how poor Souths were.Probably not giving the Broncos the respect they deserve here. That is 100% effort. They had pride in their defense.
Rabbits lost by one try. And the try The Broncos scored was an intercept.
Bunnies looked like they were trying at least.
Haha. Classic SJ. Totally true tho. We were one win away from a GF birth last year and lost a game on Friday night and now it’s doom and gloom. From the other two games I’ve seen so far im not worried at all! We may well lose to Easts next week as well. I’d love a win and think we’ll get it at home, but if we don’t it’s not the end of the world.I hate us losing any game but at least you get to meet people you have not seen in a while coming out of the woodwork
Agree. Dumb play by Souths in the last few minutes, they kicked back to the Broncos on two occasions, I think, hoping for a miracle play. Adjusting to life without Adam Reynolds, no doubt. We will demolish both those teams. Souths were awful and looked nothing like last year. Yep. And after one game, it’d be nice if some of them crawl back into the woodwork.I hate us losing any game but at least you get to meet people you have not seen in a while coming out of the woodwork
I'll try and open them up this week, need to go through importing each one just need 30 mins to sort itIm missing all the games this weekend as we are spending the weekend in a Air BnB with my Melbourne family ( whom we haven’t seen for 2 and 1/2 years ) so last night it was games in front of the open fire and no TV.
So I’d appreciate in a quick few words an update on how each team looked.
And I’m hoping @Dan can open up tipping beyond round 2 so I can put these in for the next few weeks in advance.
Thanks all
Penrith looked great - fast, strong and clinical across the park. Almost unstoppable, really. We certainly couldn't stop them. Tough yardstick (or YARTstick), but we looked pretty much like we have for as long as I care to remember: good in patches, really poor in others. We had chances to get into the game, especially early on, but all our mistakes (and there were plenty of those) came back to haunt us and Penrith wouldn't let up.Im missing all the games this weekend as we are spending the weekend in a Air BnB with my Melbourne family ( whom we haven’t seen for 2 and 1/2 years ) so last night it was games in front of the open fire and no TV.

Pretty much what @Ron E. Gibbs said:Im missing all the games this weekend as we are spending the weekend in a Air BnB with my Melbourne family ( whom we haven’t seen for 2 and 1/2 years ) so last night it was games in front of the open fire and no TV.

As for the Souths/Broncs game, Souths were awful...the words that come to mind are bumbling, inept and clueless in attack. Quite a contrast from last year's Rabbits without Mitchell, Reynolds and Walker was struggling. The Broncs weren't much better but took the limited chances that they created. They should've taken more advantage of the opportunities that Souths gave them. The Broncs did win the halves battle as Kelly and Walters were far more effective.Penrith looked great - fast, strong and clinical across the park. Almost unstoppable, really. Only saw the second half of the Sharks and Raiders but both looked pretty good to me, definitely contenders for spots in the top eight. Some tough forwards and skilful backs in both teams. They both looked like they would have towelled us up as well.
Well Joseph Sualli is injured and he is usually good for a column or 2 !I don’t understand why the league media is only giving us 5 or 6 major stories about Sam Walker this week. For example the SMH feature on him today and the nrl site has a few stories about him.
But it’s not enough! We want more media on Sam walker, young immortal. Why are they starving us of the sam walker information we crave?
Haha yeah I'm surprised the petitions and marching to Narabeen haven't already been organised.I hate us losing any game but at least you get to meet people you have not seen in a while coming out of the woodwork
Yep for sure. Perhaps Manly and Easts read a bit of the hype during the week.Rooster are down 10-2 At half time.
Very sloppy against the knights.
They have made so many errors.
Sutton has not helped them at all re calls.
What's the bet they turn up next Friday night against us.
We can beat them from what I am watching today but we will have to improve a lot from Thursday night's performance to do so.
