only 6 real contenders

Massive difference in quality between the top 6 and all other sides this year. So we were told, and seemed a fair call for a short time.
But I reckon 3 of the alleged Big 6 won't even make the top 8.
Or at least 2 of the 3.
Could be wrong, but just thought I'd get in early with this prediction!
A Big 3 is all there is left, Panthers Storm and Eels, and that leaves plenty of room at the top for a team on the rise, such as Manly. 🙂

You may be right
I may be crazy
But it just may be the lunatic you’re looking for
Turn out the light
Don’t try to save me
You may be wrong for all
I know
But you may be right

I am not prepared to right off Souths. They will be there or thereabouts, although I don't think they can win the comp.

The pundits said there were only 6 teams who could win the comp, sounds to me like you've written them off. And I certainly have, they didn't beat us by all that much even without Turbo.

I agree with you it is no longer 6 teams in the hunt. Roosters and Raiders are no chance.

If I had to commit one way or another, I would say Souths won't win the comp (same as for Parra) but I think objectively it's too early to completely rule Souths out. It is only round 9, Reynolds, Cook and Latrell are big players for them, and there is plenty of time for them to overcome last night's result. Plus, they have that wily old bugger as coach.

The Raiders, who started the year as one of the so-called Big 6 who were the only genuine premiership contenders, have now dropped out of the top 6 in premiership betting markets.
(Replaced by.... the Sea Eagles!)

Still plenty of water to flow under the bridge.

The winner of this year will come from the top 5 and us. On our day, and with a bit of luck injury wise, we can beat any team on the day. And we are still to get Fainu back which will add a different dimension to our attack.

While some teams have been more affected than others, injuries and suspensions still to play a part. This comp is still wide open.
