Manly fullback Tom Trbojevic is set to knock back interest from the Super League to sign a three-year contract extension with the Sea Eagles worth close to $2.5 million.
Trbojevic’s manager Paul Sutton met with Manly general manager Peter Gentle this week to discuss his client’s future following revelations that the NSW and Australian representative had given his agent permission to explore options in England.
The Sea Eagles presented a three-year extension that would keep Trbojevic at the club until the end of 2029, when he will be 32 years old. The deal will be submitted to the board for approval.
The club also has a one-year extension on the table to his brother, Jake, who is leaning towards retiring after his final contracted year in 2027.
Tom’s deal will include a ratchet clause to allow for an increased broadcast deal from 2028 and could see him earn close to $3 million over the same period.
Trbojevic has been mulling his future during the past few months and has told those close to him that he has become frustrated with both his own fitness issues and the direction of the club.

His decision to explore options in England was due to a belief that perhaps Manly did not want him to remain at the club and were only willing to keep him as a gesture of good faith, rather than a desire from them for him to stay.
After the meeting this week, the club made it clear he remains an important part of their plans for the future.
Trbojevic has been told he will start the 2026 season at fullback but would eventually be transitioned into a different position in the backline when Lehi Hopoate is ready to take over his No.1 jersey.
Sources with knowledge of the situation talking on the condition of anonymity due to confidentiality said that Trbojevic has told the club he is comfortable with the club’s plan.
