'Alleged leak' creates 'ill feeling' between Manly Sea Eagles and Wests Tigers​

There's plenty of ill feeling between the Sea Eagles and Tigers over boom youngster Onitoni Large.

Rated the best schoolboy player in the country, Large quit the Tigers last week to sign a lucrative deal with Manly.

Large and his family wanted the move kept secret - but it was allegedly leaked to the media by someone at the Tigers.

That annoyed both the young half and the Sea Eagles, who refused to announce the signing on their own website.

If the kid becomes a star, which seems highly likely, the bad vibe between the clubs will only increase.

Surely this is a large piss take right?

If I had anything to do with recruitment I'd be 100% trying to get this signature and furthermore, I'd raid a few more youngsters from that Penrith junior system....many future stars amongst it

If Large has a really fast start, he’ll make heaps of breaks.

Actually I think DCE is one of, if not the quickest players over 10 metres. He has explosive acceleration. Quick also over 100 metres but the really quick ones, Saab, Koula would overtake him

Be interesting as to how Manly will develop Large 's game as even with his impressive speed, he is now essentially a half or playing in a half 's role .
Regardless still a good pickup and can ideally find his way to a top rating - eventual i st grade level for Manly before not too long .
Koula , Weekes. Tom Wright even Fletcher - Myers previously, coming through the juniors as quick or with above average speed .
Let "s hope it can result for Manly more in the Koula outcome with Large

Interesting Ashton large the gun younger brother who plays hooker has been spotted doing extra training with several manly players today.
I saw on another post someone may have spotted him in manly gear at training also?

Would be a great pick up very highly rated and would make sense with his brother being here now.

This would be massive for us, he is dynamite! Incredible running game and very good on his feet. Geez I hope this is true!

The family were apparently upset at the Tigers the way they announced Onitonti’s departure as they wanted it kept quiet. Tigers didn’t honour this small request and the Large’s were now offside with the club. This wouldn’t surprise me if Ashton is at Manly.
