Constructive criticism of dce contributions to the qld origin campaign is not dce bashing. No wonder opinions of him on this site are so divisive.

At best he has been very mitchell pearce like in his origin career , who also played a lot of games due to there being nobody else

He would be a good player to have when qld is playing well, is on the front foot, but qld need someone to be that player and just like at manly he needs everyone else purring along to showcase his skills

In about 20 games last year and early this he showed maybe once that he can lead a team to victory .and the opposition was nowhere near as formiddable as this nsw team. He has many skills but bur dragging teams along is not one of them and qld need that, as do manly when tom isnt playing.

Yep I agree - DCE is great when his forwards are on the front foot - he is superb. If you need a game manager and a director to drive a team around or yes lead them out of a pickle he is not your man. He suits us perfectly with Foran because Foran will drive the team around and Foran will lead from the front. DCE is a great instinctive player - great 40/20's but yes not a leader from the front.

Gee these journos are dumb. We have the Broncos just coming off a wooden spoon dah, plus a new coach and no hope of an improvement in sight due to the mess they are also in dah. Cameron Smith retired. Cooper Cronk not there. Slater not there dah. The other two Queensland teams being the Titans and Cowboys well out of the run into the finals and loosing games dah. The game has been changed with score lines that reflect AFL scores dah All QLD NRL teams well below Par with ordinary performances and these Journos are putting **** on DCE. Who the hell are they going to replace DCE with that's going to turn game 3 around. These journo's sit there with their pens twiddling acting like they are the be all and end all to rugby league with the insight to all the answers. This is a no brainer. Anything to start a war to keep themselves in a job. They probably have lifted nothing heavier than a pen in their miserable life. They are the disgrace of human humanity and the funny thing is ,,, is that they know it. If this ain't a good enough reason i don't know what is. F k the journos they should take a look at themselves the way they carry on. Kenty is a disgrace as are all the other pen fiddling Twats. What's so hard to understand about a performace like that from QLD. You can see it coming a mile off. Cant get blood from a stone.

I disagree. What is the difference between DCE and any other half. If the forwards are going forward and your team is winning field position and territory, the half back will look good in comparison to if the side is being belted.

Last year Cleary looked at sea and QLD halves world beaters,this year roles have reversed. Why, because look at the NSW side compared to QLD. Munster has looked **** house as well.

Cleary in that previous match if he played for QLD you think he would of steered them to victory. No way. NSW were too good, and QLD were pathetic.

I get the argument re DCE and captain. He has it in him, he has shown it before, but his consistently is not as good as Cleary. That is what sets them apart.

I still think he has captain qualities, the Manly team all lookup to him and had big wraps on him from his QLD team mates, journos like Hooper always bag him though. Who else could captain that QLD side? Not Munster, guy is a grub?

If Sam Walker keeps heading at his current trajectory,DCE won’t have to worry about giving a **** about Origin,the selectors will make that decision for him

I think that is what sets DCE and Foran apart. I would agree, Foran seems more consistent with his game management compared to DCE. DCE has shown he has the ability, but can go missing at times, where Foran is very good in this department. That is why they compliment each other so well.

Darren Lockyer was the only one who has come out and said you cannot put it squarely on DCE, he said the whole spine was poor and missing a quality hooker and full back didn't help

Constructive criticism is fine and in DCE's case warranted on occasions but ANY halfback struggles when their team is on the back foot. Some do better than others but rarely can a halfback carry a crap team to victory on his own.

Hooper's criticism of DCE last night by banging on that "he's had zero try assists and zero linebreak assists" is simplistic.
If Feldt does what any rep winger should do there's two assists right there - Cleary has only one for the series so far.
Linebreak assists - Teddy and Cleary top the list with two in a team that has scored 76 points.

By saying he's not leading from the front just because they've been flogged is also a simplistic view
He's up there in tackle breaks - 8th, but all the NSW back five are ahead of him.
Has made one less run than Cleary and missed half as many tackles (whilst making more ) and hasn't made any errors in a soundly beaten team.

See, stats can be read any way you like.

I get that DCE is a somewhat divisive character to some, I personally don't know why but there's a difference between constructive criticism and bashing.

What should/could he do differently to get his inferior team over the line?

NSW know that anything in attack would be coming from only DCE or Munster and Munster has been poor but escaping criticism from the mob.

The only reason I wanted Shoe in there early and Foran at 14 was I really didn’t think Foz’ body would hold out (yeah he broke his hand), but because the experiment worked with Shoe at second row, and Foz is playing like it’s 2011. I have to admit , I really didn’t think Foz had it in him to keep going. Never doubt a champion. Lesson learnt.

99.999999999% of a half backs game performance and stats directly relate to the field position enjoyed or otherwise or the team ... NO half is a specialist try assist master inside his own 2om zone, and very few half's get too many repeat sets from kicking from their own 30m line ....

The real test is what your half does when in attacking field positions ....

DCE is a quality player just has his limits like every player. In hindsight I agree - I just didn't think Foran still had it and was worried about his injuries. He has totally proved me wrong. I was one calling for Schu to play 5/8 before the beginning of the year and certainly after 4 weeks of the season.
